Does Pat White have the speed to kickreturn? He did show some guts and skill at running. Maybe some special team help would help set him a place while staying on the roster.

Too small to return kicks, too small and slow to be a threat to run from behind the LOS..... so basically we're spending valuable practice reps to develop him into a 3rd string QB or a 2nd string QB that you literally pray never has to take the field.

I'm not there so I'm only speculating but I'd be willing to bet he's "shining" these past two days against guys that will be driving trucks and working at Home Depot in a few weeks.

No offense but he's not too slow to be a threat behind the LOS (IMO at least). He doesn't need the long speed to break one 60 yards every time he takes a snap. He's plenty elusive and quick enough to pick up small chunks of yards and move the chains..... and his vision isn't all that horrible either (except for being bamboozled on the sideline). If he continues to add size, he still has PLENTY of talent/potential to be effective in this role.

I'm inclined to believe that how we used Pat last season was merely a SET-UP for this season.... a ploy/strategy so to speak to get to an idea of how defenses would play him so we could counter it during the offseason..... to perfect it w/o tipping our hand b/c Pat wasn't fully prepared to be unleashed last season.

Other teams in the NFL still don't know how we plan on using Pat, but we now have film on how they'll attempt to stop him. Advantage- Miami Dolphins, Dan Henning, and Pat White. (B/C I find it kind of odd that Pat would take a snap and immediately throw it away while be congratulated for doing so like I believe Stringer pointed out.... I also find it odd that he was NOT used in any common-sensical way that most of us imagined)
