Still the best around. http://www.thephins.com/index.php?o...at-kansas-city&catid=31:cons-keys-to-the-game
Me too, he has been a bit of a disappointment but I figure give him some time before we label him the next Ryan Sims
I think the fact he allows O-lineman to get inside position on him (in terms of his hands) is a big thing. Letting someone get that type of hold on you really decreases your ability to play with leverage, and to get off of a block consistently. The best way to find this out is to go against someone smaller than you at home. Let the other person (smaller) get their hands inside of your shoulders and then try to overmatch them. You may find that it is harder than you can imagine.
This is the game I fear honestly. It's a TRAP game against a bad team right before the biggest game in the last 5+ years honestly. KC is a VERY Loud and hard stadium to win in. KC is playing spoiler and playing for their jobs. We don't have a great history in cold, I expect the run game to be the #1 priority this week. If we lose this game next week means nothing were done, no playoffs.. So PLEASE do not overlook this game... We need to win this and win at the Jets and we win the DIVISION!
I think the Fins can win if we control the TOP battle. If the defense is on the field for 35+ plays in the first half we could be in trouble - quickly. There will be some residual affects of last week's game if the offense cannot generate some continuity out there.
TOP is not too tough against the spread. We can never run a cloKC out so we end up losing games in the 4th quarter.
True. At the same time though, those linebackers you guys have out there certainly help the opponents too. Miami does have issues with teams that can complete short passes off of a 3 step drop. Covering a deep in is an issue as is an athletic TE. You guys have a HOF, so we WILL have issues.
Fantastic as usual Con. Make sure you cause lots of noise for the KC Oline to have false starts as i'm sure the others at arrowhead will be doing that to our line. Even the playing field!
I am hoping to post a reply or two during the game on Sunday to let everyone know how it looks from being at the game. I also get to prove that I do exist. as Vengeful Odin and GIK will be there. Of course if we lose I'll likely be blamed and subsequently left naked on the highway with only my new found friend - the dog that likes to sniff my butt as company.
Very good job Con. You make it sound like we have a chance!!! Another factor in this game might be that the Chiefs have nothing to lose and they may play over their heads.
Thanks man. I posted it on your board as well. Yeah the Chiefs may come out hard and try to audition a bit. But, I think the defense lets you guys down this week. The linebackers are just not good at weeding through the trash and making plays. I think that and the way Miami defends the spread will be very, very big.
I went to school at OU (University of Oklahoma) so I know what it's like out there. I'm mostly just playing up the weather thing. I don't really give a **** to be honest.
great read as always con. i really think this is going to be a much tougher game than most are thinking for us. should be interesting.
Holy cow! That's the most detailed scouting report I've ever seen. One thing on the Arrowhead crowd - I'd anticipate this extreme cold which is supposed to be such a shock to the Phins will keep the fan #s down a bit too.
Extreme cold does not benefit the spread or a pass heavy offense. If we can get the running game going we should be able to outscore them.
True most times. They live there and are more accustomed to it and dealing with it. PLus it isn't as though it just got cold there today, or the day of the game. It has been cold there for a month by now. Chances are it still affects us more than them, but who knows. All I want is a win.
If anything this should help ground the explosive Chiefs attack that Thigpen once in a while can muster. They can't really run the ball all that well. They can't stop crap on the ground.
"I've about had it with these bad feeling", "this is going to be tougher than we thought" posts. I think that's more than obvious that it's going to be a tough game.
Hey, it's worked all these weeks. If it ain't broke then don't fix it. Just kidding. You may be right Jaj, but you never know how KC will come out. If they think Edwards is a lame duck, they may just try to get through the game without anyone getting hurt and go home. Or, more likely, they come out fighting. Everyone's job is on the line so to speak - not that playing well the last two weeks will solidify anyone's job all that much, but you get the idea. Who knows.
Same plan as every week except more of an emphasis on stopping the run, great tackling, and running the rock on our side. No turnovers and that's it. Nothing special this week.
