Agree but I kinda figured the guy who's team went undefeated would win it, and Ingrim looked much better in his title game than Mccoy
Who was number 4? Please don't tell me Suh took last place in the voting if thats the case what a sham the media is.
Suh was 4th. What do you really expect? He was not known by national media for most of the year and does not play for a high profile team or high profile position. It never goes to the best player so i don't know why your shocked. I mean how many Heisman trophy's does Calvin Johnson have?
I think Nebraska's a high profile team. Sure they haven't had as much success as in the past but they're still good. Also, Suh's been tearing up the NCAA for two years now. If it's true that the national media was not completely familiar with him, then that's a shame.
The interesting thing is that Mark Ingram is the winner, and he's #2 in the SEC in rushing on a per game basis. The #1 rusher on a per game basis in the SEC wasn't even a finalist for the Doak Walker Award. He didn't have the team around him that Mark Ingram had either. The #1 rusher in the SEC is Anthony Dixon.
I was happy to see it go to someone who really appreciated it, not saying if you "dont" cry you dont care, but it was obvious what it meant to him.
I was gonna say, Suh is FAR more of a household name than Ingram. Unfortunately, the 4th most deserving won it. McCoy deserved 5th....or perhaps didn't deserve to be on the Ballot at all.....
IMO, this is an award that was given to Bama's oline. Every game I saw, their back up RB did just as well (if not Better-Auburn) as Ingram. Gerhart or Suh definitely deserved it more, IMO.
Per USA Today: His most astounding statistic: Of his 1,864 total yards this season, Ingram has gained 1,002 yards after contact, 53.7% of his total yards. " Don't think it was all his offensive line.
