We did not add a QB in the draft but did add surrounding talent and coaching on O. This in itself makes our QB better. Chad Henne- He did not improve last year as most had expected him to do. There are a number of reasons to remove a lot of the blame from Henne but not all of it. I believe this is his "do or die" season, and expect him to step up. How far is the question. Tyler Thigpen- Thiggy is a good backup with starting experience, and knowledge of the team. He may be our backup but hopefully our #3 QB. Available options, via FA or trade, are Carson Palmer, Matt Hasselbeck, Vince Young, Donnavan McNabb, Kevin Kolb, Tavaris Jackson, JP Losman, and Mark Bulger. Palmer is likely the best option but wants to play on the west coast. Hasselbeck could work but can't see him wanting to come to a young team and compete for starting. Kolb costs too much, and has proven nothing. Bulger is old, and was injured all of last year. Jackson and Losman are average at best. I believe McNabb is the choice here. He was embarrassed last year, has a chip on his shoulder, still has talent, and has something to prove. I think he would accept the challenge of having to compete to start, while not costing a lot. Your choice?
