Looking to trade up into the 3rd, 4th, or 5th round. Willing to package RG Hugh Thorton [#86 pick, 2013]..... and promising 2013 5th round NT Montori Hughes [6'4 330 out of Tennessee Martin]. Package them plus a 5th, 6th, of 7th to move up into one of the aforementioned rounds.
We all know those Pizza Delivery guys are scum. For sure. I'd belt one too and take his parking spot.
Colts offering a 4th rounder to take RT Gosder Cherilus, one year removed from a great 2013 season. Had a down 2014 year due to playing in a severely injured O-line that featured lots of young interior O-linemen taking their lumps beside him.
That 4th round compensation would be illegal from my understanding. You can't trade Cherilus and a 4th for a 7th as you are paying someone to take on his salary for you, ala bypassing the dead cap which is why all my previous trades were not allowed.
Gosder Cherilus 6.9M (8.7M)+ a 4th Rounder. You send me a player back in return. {approved by league commissioner}
Actually you still cannot do that because my trade with the Vikings was vetoed by the Comissioner and we had traded two of my players and a pick for one of his players. That trade was deemed as me bypassing the dead cap rule, so I don't think you could do this trade like this either.
It depends on a player. If it's a player that: A) is arguably worth 4th round compensation B) won't be cut Then it shouldn't be an issue.
Not arguing, just looking for an explanation, why does it matter what he'd do with a player after he obtains him? It's his player? Is it the fact he'd cut the player immediately? If I traded for Cherilus and cut him in a week, would the trade be retroactively revoked? Just trying to get clear parameters on the rules about cutting players going forward. Not to muddy up Todd's trade block, perhaps these concerns can be answered in a separate post. Thanks.
so you're admitting that you are trading him solely for cap space? Which was the whole premise behind my moves. I didn't know I had to list players on my trade block in order to trade them. I'm really fine with this though Todd, go for it, as long as you don't take a scrub back. Get it champ
Your point has been made, Cherilus has 0 value, now that 4th on the other hand has a value of a 4th round pick. That said, you have to get a player in return that is worth a 4th round pick. I'm going to list my whole roster on my trade block so I can rationalize trading any one of them now. I really don't know why you keep attacking me and saying I am whining, I am just trying to make sure the rules are fair, well understood, and everyone plays by them.
who the hell doesn't trade players for cap space. As long as the trades are FAIR then that's all that matters. I'd also like to upgrade the right side of my Oline, and I'm not sure I want to cut/bench my inexpensive RG to do it when I can do it with Cherilus instead, but I'm obviously paying a price for it- a valuable 4th round pick. You don't have to do anything, but obviously when you go about trades as shadily as you did there are repercussions. If you wanna avoid those repercussions, then show that you've at least established fair market value so that your trades can't be questioned. For me to be guilty of what you did, I would've had to try to dump Cherilus for free during the opening day of trades.... but I obviously didn't. 5 weeks dude. I spent 5 weeks establishing his trade value.
