With all the reports of those passing this week we would be remiss if some time were not spent to Honor the most highly decorated Marine pilot ever. God bless you leatherneck may you rest in Gods good graces. http://www.stripes.com/article.asp?section=104&article=63525 The painting of his daring flight against all odds! http://www.aviationartcentral.com/detail.asp?product_ID=durr003 http://joshuapundit.blogspot.com/2009/06/another-marine-reporting-sirive-served.html
RIP.Certainly a meritorious record.I am glad he lived a full life. How many times have heard of war heroes who have displayed unbelievable courage and survived many battles only to be run over by a car when he gets home.
Mucho thanks for sharing GA. I only wish I could've been afforded the oportunity to talk to this man. Can anybody imagine the stories he would be able to tell. Stories that only a true hero had Earned God Bless you Colonel, and may you RIP.
Wow, had to read this before I realized what the Painting was depicting....very cool and amazing...plus Baa baa BlackSheep Squad...dang, double cool. Then add Planes and Heicopters...triple cool. RIP! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Black_Sheep
