According to Profootballtalk.com, "multiple league sources" claim the Rams' selection of DE Chris Long over DT Glenn Dorsey went against the will of the scouts and coaching staff. The decision to go with Long may have come at the behest of team president John Shaw as the result of connections with Long's father Howie, Long's agent, and Rams' front office chief Billy Devaney. If this story has legs, it would be another case in a long line of dysfunction in the Rams' front office http://www.rotoworld.com/content/home_NFL.aspx
interesting development there. I think either player would have worked out well for them with Long being the safer pick due to the injury concerns with Dorsey. If I was the rams I wouldn't worry much, they still got themselves a solid player
