It’s been a long, drawn-out process but Greg Wesley’s departure from Kansas City seems imminent. The Kansas City Star reports that the team’s told the safety that if they couldn’t trade him before their minicamp begins on June 6, they would release him. Wesley started 102 games for the Chiefs between 2000 and 2006 before being relegated to a reserve role in 2007. He asked the team to trade him or release him in March and, with no trade avenues on the horizon, it looks like he’ll be granted the latter wish.
