I was REALLY excited to see these movies ever since I heard about them a year ago. I'm a big fan of Benicio Del Toro and have an interest in Latin American history. I was VERY disappointed when the Cuba politico crushed the movie and it was a pain to find a theater that was actually playing them.

Has anyone else seen them? What did you think? I found them to be overall really good movies. It was a HUGE relief to see a movie that wasn't "hollywooded" up. Through nearly 4.5 hours of movie you'll never see a "Michael Bay" shot, and though it would be REALLY easy to romanticize this story...they didn't. The vast majority of what you see here is corroborated by his diary and first person encounters.

In addition they did a great job of walking the line and not taking a stand on many of the controversial issues that follow Che Guiverra. I never felt that this was a film promoting the man, just a peak into what he experienced.

I did feel like they left a lot out though. There are certain periods that I am very interested in that were skipped over. Guess I'll have to read some books.

In the end they didn't disappoint..not what I expected but they didn't disappoint.

Glad it wasnt a love story.

Che Guevara. One man, one voice, the revolutionary, the lover. Che Guevara embarks on a journey from liberating Cuba from the Batista regime, to a South American tour organizing a revolutionary army to topple the governments. But on the way, he meets Cecilia de la Cruz, a wealthy daughter of a Venezuela businessman. Their love is fateful but also deadly.

Che is Romeo, and Cecila is Juliet.

I can see it now. We could make MILLIONS!
