Guess I am missing something?

Pretty sure we already have PM's
I know its not the same as doing an I'm, but....just sayin

I dont see why we dont just get a chat room w/ instant messaging.

well no.....pm system now is basically like email. you need to wait awhile to send anther message (after you sent the original) and instant messaging is just that.....instant!

i just think it would be cool

Sites grow more popular in search engines by having content that can be indexed. Since chats can not be easily indexed, we don't believe that is the best route for us. ;)

We do offer chat on game day and for the draft, though.

I know that this formula might not suit everyone but we are just over a year old and are the second largest Miami Dolphins site on the planet -- second only to one that has been here for 1 million years. We know what we are doing is working and, in the process, we have adhered to the highest standards for members and quality of posting. :)

I know it isn't as desired as the IM suggestion, but I think part of the reason we have profile comments is to give us an option other than pm's to communicate.

Or just use PIDGIN, that way you can IM anybody regardless of their IM program. :wink2:

FWIW, this site saw an increase in unique users over last 3 months while that other site was down 13%, according to my friends at Alexa :hi5:

One just needs to go read the junk on other forums and see just how much more respectful we are here to each other.

the chat thing would be a sick idea sick. i love the IM on myspace, infact i deleted my account about a year ago and recently starting a new myspace since they got that feature on there. i mean we can go into that thread for just talkin in the lounge, but its to time consuming, so i find myself skipping it.

i think it would be a very good idea

Unfortunately it does us more harm than good.

We have some other things lined up down the pipe, but IM won't be one of them. Sorry guys.

Not a problem with me. I shut down my AIM because it's distracting and I feel rude if I don't respond. Personally, I like email or PM because then I can respond when I am in an uninterrupted mode.

Agree completely Lisa.

Not to mention that an open chat on a site like this becomes complete mayhem. I find myself losing interest in the chats during the games cause it just gets to crazy to keep up with it all

well with pm's your box gets full and its not "instant"...

You have to do maintenance to clear the box; it's not so hard. I use the new posts feature, so yes, if a PM comes in when I'm on this website, it comes up after I switch threads. I don't know if that's instant enough, but it surely doesn't distract.

oh its plenty hard. perhaps we can design a robot that does it for us? just a thought.
