Ole'! Frankly, after watching his performance against the Jets in the playoffs, I'm shocked that the Jets had any interest in him. On top of that, he has had only 1 really good season and has tons of personal baggage.
Cromartie had one good season and has struggled the past two. With Revis on the other side he will see a lot of passes, the Jets coaching staff better get him in shape because he has really fallen off in his coverage game. Not to mention, he avoids contact like the plague. And teams will make sure to make him have to get physical.
well thats a good thing but still this just makes a True #1 WR even more important for us i really wish the coachs would go after Brandon Marshall even though i know it wont happen
Just hope this doesnt work out for them like the Moss trade did for New England. Granted AC isnt anything like Moss in terms of talent or track record, but still.
Release their best player in a cost saving move in a cap free season, sign wussy overrated CB instead. Same ol' Jets.
I was a bit worried when I heard this, but only because I remember hearing Cromartie's name in good light (probably his one good season). After reading this though, I'm definitely in better spirits! That Top 5 Chargers thing was pretty hilarious
Cromartie is a one year wonder. Aside from his 10 INT year he's been average. Still better than their current #2 though, but for a 3rd, possibly 2nd? Not too sure about that.
Maybe he'll have his 8th kid in yet another city! I'm hoping that's the most production he has. The Jets sure do go after the clASSy guys.
Wasn't there another guy that had 9 children with 8 women ? Isn't he the Bengal that passes away last season ?
There's too many of these 'Father of the Year' type of men in the NFL. As of last year, Travis Henry had 11 children with 10 different women.
I think Rex Ryan will get more out of him than say Ron Rivera. However, I don't see him being the 10 INT force he was from a couple years ago. He just isn't a good technical DB. He's really a weak point in the run defense. IF Miami continues it's Wildcat offense, he's going to have a very difficult time containing the Jet Sweep and coming up in run protection. I think he'll improve and I don't think the Jets gave that much away to make it seem like a bust either. All in all, I think it's a fair trade for both sides. I don't see this being a move that puts the Jets over the top, nor do I see it as the Chargers getting weaker.
Wow....that's all that comes to mind. "Burden" huh? Nice to know those poor kids, through no choice of their own, are "burdens" on the poor little Cromartie.
We should be harsh on EVERY man who fathers multiple children from multiple women out of wedlock. The women too. Ricky has three kids from three different women. There's no way he can be there for all his kids. Its a disgrace.
Since when is releasing a RB who broke down and is at the end of his career bad? BTW, Revis is our best player followed by Mangold and Harris.. Since when is having a child out of wedlock such a sin? This is 2010 not 1610.
I can understand not wanting to pay what Thomas Jones had coming because there is a chance he MIGHT drop off in production. The odd thing to me now is them looking at LT. We already know he's dropped off and gets hurt a lot.

I'm not so sure about that. Can Cromartie handle getting thrown at all day long? Because we know teams don't throw near Revis. I'm sure he is an upgrade over what you had before but will it have a huge impact overall?
Not being a father to your child is a sin. I don't care if you're married or not, I care if you are around to be a father every day. Ricky's kids are scattered. Its impossible for him to be a real dad to his kids.
