Doesn't mean we can't wish success for him when he's not playing Miami. The guy was a class act and I hope he plays well enough to win the job for 2013.
I am glad Henne is having some success, but I truly feel he needed to go elsewhere to have it. He isnt an elite qb but can be a good second tier qb. After all that went down here, the trust wasnt there and thus it was better for both that he went elsewhere. We got Tannehill so good for everyone involved
U know Jags fans are going to be hyped now. Real problem for Henne is normally he then follows it up with a stinker game
Hasn't so far. He's got a better supporting cast there then he did here. And that's been without MJD so far. Unless you like Rex Ryan, there's no reason not to root for whoever they play each week.
Sure, he is a Jest killer, esp if they stupidly start the Nacho v Tebow Henne is a good Qb, not great, but quite good, objectively speaking
Is it me, or does he seem to be enjoying touchdowns (celebrating) a lot more as a Jaguar, than he was a Dolphin. Seems much less robot-like now.
He was booed in a private practice before the season started..why should he care, not many Folks gave him credit for improving as a player relative to where he was drafted.
Clearly, mentally, he was long gone by 2011. Seems to be thriving now that he's had time to re-set. Still, we've seen solid stretches from Henne before, only to be kicked in the gut soon after starting to believe. Will be interesting to see what happens for Jags fans now.
Sparano made him so petrified to make mistakes he was in a shell. He's probabaly a lot looser now under new coaches. Good for him.
I said it before I'll say it again, Chad Henne is a late bloomer type of QB, He'll be more sucessfull in the second half of his career.
I don't agree with that, just looking at his game in isolation, giving it a 2 nd round perspective, I think the player was improving, he noticeably improved his mobility the final year, had a stretch of more drops than anyone else for a while, poor protection,an inconsistent run game, and an average receiver unit , poor coaching all the way around, all in his 2 full year starting.. All I'm sayin is the performance he gave us, taking into account the path of development, I thought the criticism was too much for the crimes.
not if you picked him up in your FFL... along with Kaepernick. I also flat out released Jay Cutler... and it's a keeper league.
The team moved on so should we. I hope he can somehow recover from Sparano/Henning's ****ty QB lessons and have a decent career. We have a new kid to build around, lets lock this thread.
Curious, If one doesnt want to read about "Chad Henne" then why would one waste his/her time clicking on it?
He's in the right system. Mularkey does a good job managing quarterbacks. It would have been nice for him if he had Mularkey to start his career.
Because it shows up as unread and a person might have a compulsion to read every thread. Or the person wants to report the thread to be moved since it has nothing to do with the Dolphins
Now this I buy into. Henne needs/needed a manager that's good with managing Qb's and keeping them on the right track of whats expeted of him. Dude can wing the football and he is no dummy. Well, not stupid thats for sure.
Personally I feel Henne is not all that bright an individual, but he can play Qb in the NFL I thought there were some things missing in his development here, his play action attempts were normally poor and he was not very instinctive, but right system, he can do fine imo. Who knows, maybe he learns that having fun on the football field is a good thing, suspect Sparano et al drilled that out of him.
Right! That's exactly why I did not say "he's a really smart Qb" and it's probably the main reason why he needs someone looking over him who is excellent with Qb's.
Well, then again he is more then merely a game manager I can recall this Raiders game 3 yrs ago, or 2 yrs, and he throws an Int in the EZ b/c he threw the ball to late, Sparano roasted him, this is not helpful. Keep in mind in 2011 he did have a great start to the yr, stumbled in the Texans game, but still, he has shown he can drive an offense.
Then the person shouldnt complain if they can not control their compulsions. Or is complaining a compulsion as well?
Wait, you're saying system & coaching has an influence/impact on the QB? Not according to half this fan base. lol Hey, wasn't Mularkey Matt Ryan's offensive coordinator? So I guess Matt Ryan was put in a position to succeed and in an offense properly built around him, including a supportive running game (especially on crucial first downs and during the 1st quarter); meanwhile Henne got..... he got..... Dan Henning & Tony Sparano, the grim reapers of quarterback dreams. lol
I liked the guy when he was here and for me he's a local guy so I will always pull for the guy. There's a ton of topic's I don't agree with or have anything to contribute to. You know what I do in those topics? Read them and move along.
