Chad Henne "being hailed" may be just a little over the top just need a journeyman, a yeoman-like performance out of the guy. he is not & is incapable of becoming an elite QB. he is not the stuff a franchise builds a team around. having said that, fortunately that is not what we need right now. we can win with Henne in 2011: 1) the offensive line has to block (both run & pass) for Henne to be able to manage the game 2) because Henne has been so carefully groomed for years, it's hard to conceive of him not being able to manage the offense successfully 3) if he can do this we will have a post season. it's been decades since last we saw a Miami team sport this much talent & potential, the dolphins are loaded. I believe Henne can & will do his part in getting us into the post season, provided Sparano fixes the offensive line. sometimes I get the feeling I'm watching an old Beetles or Elvis clip from one of their many concerts: the hysteria of young girls screaming, fainting & throwing their panties on the stage. trust me: Chad Henne is not all that... we will know by game four of the regular season if Henne has finally turned the corner or not his success is our successgood luck Chad

So you're saying I shouldn't proceed with my plan to throw my underoos onto the field during the eagles game in December?
Wait. You criticize the use of the word "hail" in regards to Chad Henne as being too over the top, but at the same time compare the actual compliments paid to his play to the hysteria of young girls screaming???
well he has to have a good game saturday @ tampa or most of the fan base will start crying and whining again, so he is under enormous pressure again...whats new ?
In fairness, we're no different than any other fan base. If the QB doesn't play well, fans complain. Welcome to the world of professional sports. You can be sure even if Tom Brady or Peyton Manning threw for a TD/INT ratio of less than 1 and had an up and down season and helped their team to a losing record fans would be grumbling about them to. Granted, they have a longer leash, but they've earned it.
we can win with Chad Henne @ QB in 2011 if the offensive line does its job, Henne should be able to manage the game. Chad Henne has been carefully groomed for the position of QB over the years, it's hard to conceive of him not being able to manage the offense successfully. if he can put in a yeoman-like performance, we will have a post season. it has been decades since last we saw a Miami Dolphin football team sport this much talent & potential going into a season, the dolphins are loaded. here's hoping Chad Henne comes through, a season is a terrible thing to waste. we'll know by game four if Chad Henne has turned the corner
I don't want him to manage the game, that's what they been trying with him for the past few years. I want them to release the handcuffs and let the kid play, show us what you got Henne. Just Bring It!!!!! Show everyone they were wrong!!!! If you go down, leave everything on the field even Pennphinfan's underoos.
peyton manning has thrown as much interceptions the last 2 years as chad henne did....33, so at least henne is on manning level in that regard...
that's a great expectation that will never be realized you're assuming Chad Henne has the talent to pull it off reality dictates a different scenario: Henne "being hailed" as in hail to the king, Dan the Man, Tom Brady, etc. : hubris it simply will never happen, he is a third tier QB with second rate potential not to worry: if he can put in a yeoman-like performance, we will have a post season. the truth will be abundantly available by game four. I hope he turns the corner.
like I said: hubris the forum is filled with this unrealistic, overstated Chad Henne wishful-thinking. go ahead, throw them panties on the stage, scream, swoon then faint. it don't mean a thing. the simple truth: if Sparano can build an Offensive Line & Henne manage the business of Offense, we're ready to hunt bear.
Talent is there, he wouldn't have gotten as far as he has without it. Question is, can he harness his talent and take it up a notch like the other QB's who have become great have done. He has the skills, just needs to put it all together. Some QB's can do it, some can't. I hope for the Phins and the fans, that he can.
I hope so too! having said that: no more excuses if he falls short & please spare me the hysteria & panties with every completed pass lowered expectations may be a good thing if Henne manages the offense in a yeoman-like way (something he should be able to do with no trouble) then, I believe, we can make the 2011 post season if he falls apart, the team cannot carry him I believe we'll know by game four if he has turned the corner or not
Don't do it!!!! Don't do it.!!!! You know better!!!!! STOP!!!!! Chad Henne being hailed? Hail Yes!!!!!!!!! Sorry, couldn't help myself... [Wraps the elven cloak from Galadriel about himself, and stealthily slips away!!]
Off-topic: What the hell? I felt one here, halfway between Rochester and Buffalo about half an hour ago too. Where else is this happening? EDIT: Nevermind. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/08/24/us/24quake.html
The State of Virginia get earthquakes often. Although, this most recent one may be the biggest recorded for that area.
I think since 1897, I believe. It was strong enough up here in Jersey that they evacuated the building I work in.
Yeah true we do get earthquakes along the east coast but usually they are either too weak to feel or too deep to feel. I actually didn't feel it, but others did. It's weird, some people felt it and others didn't in the same places. Guess it depends on the building they were in. I think there will be a big one under or much closer to NYC eventually, the last time was the 1800s. Bound to happen eventually. And it will probably have something to do with Rex Ryan.
what is needed is a reality check: no more excuses if he falls short & please spare me the hysteria & panties with every completed pass lowered expectations sometimes is a good thing if Henne manages the offense in a yeoman-like way (something he should be able to do with no trouble) then, I believe, we can make the 2011 post season if he falls apart, the team cannot carry him I believe we'll know by game four if he has turned the corner or not meanwhile he has a lot of work ahead him & much to prove between then & now Good Luck Chad Henne Your Success is our Success
I was on the 8th floor of a building in MD just outside of D.C. It was pretty scary. I didn't see any "Constanza" type stuff, but people sprinted out of there in a hurry.
I come the the "mains" because it's busy. I then return to the Club and wait for it to pick up. I think I'll wait longer this time.

Seriously, nobody is hailing the guy as anything. Tom Brady? Dan Marino? NEVER heard that comparison, not even around here recently. So I don't know where this is coming from. Maybe because Darlington had an article about it, and there's a thread here on it? Sure... even there though, that article, if the thread title here was the title of the article, then I still don't get it. So a couple of his teammates said good things about how he commanded the offense, and the huddle on the field, and people here may have commented on how he had a nice game and looked pretty good out there in the new offense, now all of a sudden in your eyes that's comparable to the beatles or elvis, or whatever the point is your trying to make... Did he look good against the panthers... yes. Does our season sink or swim with him... yes. This is something we all know, I mean... you told us that, and many other things in this thread numerous times. I don't see anyone comparing the guy to Marino or Brady now though... so.. really not sure where this is coming from. why did i do this to myself...
Friend brandon27: Seriously, most of us are tired of the excuses and the love affair with Henne still being played out with every pass he completes... truth is Beck looks like the better QB between the two @ this point in their careers. not a good idea to rehash recent history, everyone is tired of hearing it the simple truth: 1) the bad: Henne does not possess the talent to be a franchise QB in the NFL 2) the good: Henne doesn't need to be Tom Brady to get this team into the post-season. all he needs to do is mange the offense in a yeoman-like fashion, something he is perfectly capable of doing, if Sparano builds an offensive line that can run & pass block consistently. I fail to see any serious problem that would preclude this end & am looking for an appropriate resolution to the offense. 3) Sarcasm is never a good thing & I apologize if I offended anyone. I am in Henne's corner, the team cannot succeed in 2011 without him. however, I refuse to give him anything he doesn't earn. by game four we'll know if Chad has turned the corner & we have a shot @ post-season or if its time to bench him in favor of grooming another QB. we simply cannot waste another season of more of the same & nothing gained. may I respectfully suggest you hold on to your panties girls the regular season hasn't even started yet (lol) anything can happen
Friend GridIronKing34, that's all you got? the good thing is you don't have to take anything seriously posted on this forum. its only a forum, not the Congress of the United States of America. its all up to you. however, some might think its better to post in pink occasionally than throw your panties @ Henne every time he completes a pass maybe there is a subliminal message in encoded in pink posts. could be: give it a break, lets wait & see, I can't stand this inane man-crush anymore or how about: good luck Henne, manage the team & we'll have a post season this year PS: there are other colors
the irony of it all... Friend Killerphins kills me with my own quote: sarcasm sours the milk of human kindness. Kudos Killer! may I suggest you stock up on pink panties hopefully they'll be of some use to you this season as Chad Henne goes, so go the Miami Dolphins this year. Good luck Chad!
