Classic tweener, not large enough to be a tight end, not fast enough to be a Wr.

Hearing that Chad Owens will make a decision soon on signing with the Jest or not, I truly do hope we are in that mix for him..but I am dubious.

Well not a whole lot happening on this front, only that the cut off date for CFLers in their option yrs, the one yr window when they can be under contract to a CFL team but can try to sign with a NFL team, if they make a roster for the yr their CFL contract is voided, closes on February 12th, 10 days from now, could be NFL teams know this and simply low ball the CFLers who can command a Signing Bonus and just wait to see if they take the deal, or head back to the CFL.

Interesting article on how CFL Staffs are well connected to NFL front offices:

Jets signed ticats Dlinemen Garret Mcintyre, we had worked him out back in December, with the CFL to NFL window closing I'd expect we will see whomever is going to try to make the jump to sign really soon.

Interesting that he chose the Bears, you'd think he would have a better shot with the Steelers or Bills.

Well darn, I guess Ireland likes who he has or someone in the Draft

    Phil Hunt news:

    http://nflbuzz.yardbarker.com/blog/nflbuzz/source_texans_looking_at_cfls_top_pass_rusher/4121627

"Situational passrusher for 10 to 20 plays per game"

    Or

Exactly what the Dolphins need, I'd guess his lack of height puts him off of the menu for us, which I think is a mistake it is fine to have "ideal" size height weight, but more important is whether or not the guy can actually play football..

If those two are off of the table there really are not to many CFL to NFL prospects left outside of someone like Bourke the G/T.

2012 though, with Yonus Davis and Shomari Williams BC's Olifaye and a couple of others, with no CBA issues, is looking like a stronger class

Sadly enough, the Dolphins are not on that list, but of them all, Philly would be his best landing spot with the hire of Jim Washburn as Phil Hunt is not a pure up the field passrushing DE, he is more of a good all around DE and Washburn has proven that he can develop Dlinemen.

Well, there guys Hunt, which pretty much closes the book on CFL to NFLers for 2011, next yr's crops looks a bit better with Yonus Davis, Shomari Williams, Steve Black, Solomon Eliminian etc.

Best situation for Hunt, Brandon Graham is coming off of an ACL and Washburn will make him a better player and Bobby April is the best ST coordinator in the NFL.

Just to put a bow on this one:

Adamp Caplan, who is well connected in Philly also mentioned Hunt wanted to play in the 4-3 which basically meant Philly or Minnesota, and Jim Washburn's presence was a large factor, large enough to skip the Vikes offer even when he would have a better shot with Edwards and Robinson becoming Free Agents this season.
