Carroll unhappy with combat drill The News USC head coach Pete Carroll was unhappy with the hand-to-hand combat drill at USC's Pro Day, where his college players engaged with a former NFL player, according to the Los Angeles Times. Carroll reportedly told the media, "That won't happen again here." The drill definitely looked like the hardest of the day. Sedrick Ellis (chuckling at times) told LA Times reporter Gary Klein, "That was a sleeper. I didn't know that one was coming. You see it on film but you're never quite ready for that until it happens. That drill's a doozy, man." Our View We're unsure why Carroll would have issues with a football drill, that could ultimately help one of his player's draft status. http://www.fanballnews.com/nfl/
I agree with Carroll. Teaching fighting skills to would-be criminals is a bad idea. Though, needless to say, most of the U$C players are probably skilled with that and more anyways.
