I just saw it on the ESPN bottom line, he is resigning, effective at season's end.

I am so glad he is gone, that guy has been so hard to deal with.

Former UCLA alum. Poor guy. Still, he managed to rip us off with a 5th rounder for Green.

Good riddance. He's a fool that has caused a lot of suffering in KC. I'm sure the first thing the new GC will do is drop Herm like he's got the plague.

It's about time. Crazy Carl has slowly run that franchise into the ground. Hiring Herm was only one of many bad moves.
He's let that team get old and done little to nothing to replace.
My brother-in-law is a life long Chief's fan - I do not know why, though. He's also a life long Florida resident.
But this is a big game for him and I. The Fins used to play the Chiefs (it seems like) just about every year and we always have some good lively discussions.
    Can't wait.
But back to Carl......I hope whichever Hunt is now running the team chooses well when he hires. The Hunts have been AFL and NFL stalwarts for years.

They might still be complaining about the college lack of black coaches, cross your fingers.
Also rumors that Dungy might quit after this season for personal reasons, but his successor is already in place and is also African American i believe (Jim Caldwell).

Aw geez Marty. If that happens and it becomes an issue I'll be beside myself with laughter. They suck. Even Jesse Jackson has to admit they're both proven failures.

Those aren't rumors. This is Tony Dungy's last season as the Colts head coach. Jim Caldwell takes over after their season ends. It's the same thing as the Mike Holmgren/Jim Mora situation.

Ah didnt realise they were so concrete.

Anyone know of any other african american HC candidates? I expect Singletary to get the San Fran job, but hard pressed to think of any others.

Throw Romeo Crennel in the mix of potential African American job seeking coaches as well.

I wonder about that. I bet his future hinges on the next two games. I don't know how many interim coaches stick around to be the 'official' HC the next year. I imagine it's not a large percentage.

Oh, man I hope you're right.

I wouldn't complain about Bill Cowher as Head Coach or Marty Schottenheimer(spelling???) as GM. :D
