Cameron Wake is the NFL's best pass-rusher on passing downs. ESPN Stats & Information delivered a neat item about the Dolphins' outside linebacker. Wake has recorded an NFL-best 8.5 sacks with five or more defensive backs on the field (i.e., obvious passing downs). Clay Matthews has eight such sacks. Brian Orakpo is third with 7.5 sacks. What better time for a pass-rusher to come through than when the opponent needs to throw? http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/21991/final-word-afc-east-26
Well, we do get to vote. Has that started yet? Edit yes it has. http://www.nfl.com/probowl/ballot?icampaign=PB_topheader
FWIW Matt Millen was extreme in his praise for Wake yesterday. He declared him the best edge rusher in the NFL.
Not going to win the award on a losing team but I do agree he and clay matthews are the best in the league.
holding penalty's on passing downs against speed rushers should be a legit stat....he's amazing and likes to play under the big light's....one of the few. I wouldn't sign him now, but I would during the offseason. no sacks for him last night Prez.?
that stat is only with five or more defensive backs. it doesnt take into account sacks when there are only four DBs. Its an interesting tweek to sack totals that I havent seen used before. Its why I posted it
