This is the reason why I didn't want this dude on my team..When I evaluated this player comin out, noone could deny is talent and upside, his talent was worthy of the #1pick, but I didn't want him and critisized him harshly because I thought eventually his brain and mouth would get him in trouble. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yH2RtREpaac.. He wants them to ''come to his level''..lol..what a douchebag.
As long as that douchebag makes plays like he has, he can be the biggest douchebag on my team all he wants.
I don't have a problem with what he said. He's saying that some people accept failure on that team and that the culture has to be changed. He didn't say it in the most diplomatic way, but that's a problem that most losing programs have until the right leader comes in a changes the culture. I think he's working to change that culture. And since he's a guy who has won at every level so far, I expect that many of his team mates are listening. If I were a Panther's fan, I'd feel more optimistic about the future now than I did prior to drafting Newton.
still don't like his ***..and honestly, if he was a Miami Dolphin, and he said this, { calling them losers and threatening them to leave} It would have the same affect on me..but I guess I'am alone on this one..lol.. We'll see how this egomaniac leads a locker room..
You really need to get past your confirmation bias on this one, especially when the head coach and the guy who’s been the best player on the team for a decade are agreeing with the sentiment. It’s not douchy, it’s not egotistical, it’s not self-centered. And like Anonymous said, Reggie Bush did the same thing six weeks ago.
bs, its not the same. even if I wasn't on his team and he said this, if I was on another team, it would be disrespectful, if I way 250 lbs and play linebacker for another team, Iam gonna try to rip his head..off... residual consequences..Thats what your not taking into account.
Lot of ex football players don't like what he said at all.. I'am not claiming on whether this could be an effective way of leading a losing franchise, I'am just saying if thats who you are, and how you do it..Then you can eat sh%$..I wouldn't want him leading our team.
What he said is so out of bounds, and so stupid, that if anything good comes from it, I will be shocked.
even if what he says is true, you simply don't do it like that...Could you imagine Andrew Luck saying that in his first year..lol
Lemme guess, some ex-jock on ESPN said Cam shouldn't have said what he said. So what!??!? Those guys just talk and talk and talk and hope their comments stir up a controversy. -Oh nos, Chris Carter said Calvin Johnson isn't a top-10 QB -Oh nos, Hugh Douglas says Jack Del Rio needs to get punched in the face -Oh nos, Merill Hodge says Tim Tebow sucks -Oh nos, some idiot on ESPN says Cam Newton disrespected his team Fart!
He could have worded things better but nothing too bad. I'd prefer that attitude over, ""It's frustrating, but it's not life and death."
I'm guessing the answer is: "You'd get arrested, duh. And if not, you'd definitely have to cut his nails." Cam, if you become Aaron Rodgers, then who will Aaron Rogers be in 5 years? **Something tells me we've found Emmitt Smith's heir.**
Despite all the BS press he's getting, I'd still take him to be our QB. He's basically a lock for 25 touchdowns or more every season.
The team that drafted him #1, believed in him, game him millions, and this is how he talks about the franchise publicly, lol, by saying that if they don't change he will leave...The boy not only has a big mouth, but says some very stupid things that show a complete lack of humility..Hes the triple threat..Big mouth..not a very smart person..No humility..lol.. I'AM A LION!!!! AND THAT LION SHALL NOT BE PUT IN THE HOUSE!!! I have reached the penacle..
Your putting words in his mouth. Seems like a lot of people like to do that with Newton. It's pretty clear what he's trying to say. He wants to change the culture of Carolina into a winning culture. Nothing wrong with that, or how he said it. He's right. The team needs to get to his level, otherwise they will keep losing.
Cam's putting his own words in his mouth. It's not Deej's fault Cam is poorly spoken and sounds like an idiot. He's a rookie telling the team they need to get to his level. Sounds a little arrogant to me, especially when doing it publicly. If it takes a moment to digest what Cam's saying, then it's not very clear. If it were clear, he'd say what he means rather than constantly using silly drawn-out analogies while interjecting stuff like "place of residence" to seem intelligent. It's called a home, Cam. A HOME.
It didn't take any time to digest what Cam was saying. It was simple and to the point. Some people like to create context
Saying he wants out if they do not start winning is putting words in Cam Newton's mouth. That's what DJ said. Therefore, he put words in Newton's mouth. Cam Newton clearly meant the team needs to reach up to his level, competition wise. Apparently, there are some on that team fine with losing. He's calling them out. Also, how is Cam Newton at Tight End working out?
Not very good. This temporary QB thing is interfering. When Cam becomes a consistent QB, passer, and winner in the NFL, then you can start talking as if he is such. Until then, he's nothing more than a quality fantasy league QB.
When he becomes a consistent passer?????????? Jeez. Some people hang onto their preconceptions no matter what!
he said that if it doesn't change, then the lion will have to leave'', then he realized what an idiot he is in the moment, and says, ''hold up hold up, hear me out'', which basically is a cover up from the truth.. I guess if his techniques on leading a team don't work you can lobby for his services in 4 years when his contract is up.
He said hear me out, I don't want to leave the team. He wants to leave the culture of losing, and change it into a culture of winning. Your grasping for straws, DJ. If his team doesn't mind what he said, why should you? His statemants are that of a winner.
we disagree on this one Rafs, I don't want that kind of character leading our franchise...just don't, not if that's the only way he can express himself.. He generalized the whole culture in a very humiliating, insulting way..I swear to god, if I was on that team, I would go after him.
Fantasy league QB? Really? He has one of the brighter futures in the league. We would be lucky to have a QB as good as him.
His statements are that of a brat child... John Fox, how do you feel that you were the coach and leader of a franchise that cultivated a culture of losing... Fu%$ him
