call of duty world at war.. Whos got it?

i had for about 4 or 5 days now. it's ok. not as bad as CoD3. But not gonna dethrone CoD4 either.

I feared this would be the case. COD 4 is a tough act to follow and no Infinity Ward again.

Going back to the WWII theme will probably end up being a mistake.

I like it so far.. I haven't done online play yet because my internet isnt working, but story mode seems good. Nice graphics ( small improvement from cod 3). I just like the game in general i guess. So far. But i think i'm a bigger fan of the new Gears

i got the it. the story is way short. my brother and i rocked it out in a few hours. i dont like the guns. but goin back to WWII is ok, i wished they stayed modern though. it definitely wont dethrone COD4 and it wont get game of the year honors either.

None of my local game stores got any deliveries today because of Rememberence Day. I'll be picking it up tomorrow. Been looking forward to it for a while now.

A lot of people had high expectations for COD3 but it turned out to be nothing more than a glorified expansion pack to COD2 with slightly upgraded graphics. It was an ok game in its own right.

That's exactly what World at War feels like to me. That's not to say it isn't fun though.

I thought CoD3 was a huge step backwards from CoD2. I can still throw in 2 and have a good time...3, not so much.

It is a solid game and plays just like COD4. You cant even compare it to cod3 IMO because its so much different. The only reason it wont be up there with cod4 is because it doesn't have a the modern gadgets like night and red doted sights. If your a COD fan go out and get it its a good game with some good online games. Yay, they brought back the old fashioned capture the flag!!

True and I can see your point.

Thing is for me that all WWII Games are the same. The same, the same, the same :lol:

Maybe you can say that MOH feels more arcade like but in the end, for me at least, its all the same.

So when I went from COD2 to COD3 it felt natural and since I liked COD2 I liked COD3 just as much if not more so since it felt a lot harder, and I dont like easy games, so it was win win for me.

I fully expect COD WaW to be the same WWII thing so I know I'll like it, just problably will wait awhile since I am not in the WWII mood yet and as it is I am thinking of getting BIA:HH for cheap on Black Friday.

As was said in the "beta" thread, the weapon balance is TERRIBLE and there is really no bonus to using a rifle over a submachine gun. This should have been fixed before release. If I'm using a bolt action, single shot gun with a huge cartridge one bullet should do. I should not have to shot the guy three times.

On the "shooting the guy three times" angle, adding juggernaught was a HUGE mistake. They should get rid of this. Body armour does not protect the head accept in the "Call of Duty" world. There is nothing that pisses me off more than dumping half a clip into some dude, only to have him turn around while I'm shooting him and killing me...

...well accept doing that but getting the kill, only to have him use the last stand perk on me and shooting me, only to have someone else clean him up and not getting the kill.

any vietnam games out there?!?!

Not even going to give it a chance. I can't believe they stepped back from modern war.

I'll wait for the CoD4 team to put together CoD6.

So, bumping this thread to do a video game rewind. I was thinking about picking it up to give it a spin now that it's only a few bucks. Is the online any fun? Is there still a big enough online community for this game to play the game online?

Ill try to pop mine in and see if people still play but I will say I had the most fun playing this game online out of all the CODs.

Got it on Xbox360 and looks like there's still people playing. But I couldn't play any of the matches since I don't have the map packs. Kinda cheap that they don't just put you in games that don't involve extra maps with people who also don't have them, but maybe there aren't enough people playing anymore for that. Downloading them now.
