Call of Duty Black Ops Comes out in 6 hours. Can not wait for this game to come out. I'll be going to Gamestop at 12 Am to pick this up for the PS3. Anyone else buying it?
got mine reserved. Problem is I have to leave my house in an hour to get a number. Then I have to go back for 12. Not a fan of this policy. Is it like this at every gamestop? This is my first 12am run for a game.
Damn u guys that are getting it at 12 am!! Preordered mine. It will be delivered some time tomorrow. I will be playing it when i get home from work. If my job didnt suck i would be able to take the day off. Anyway. For the one that mentioned Kobe did you notice the black mamba painted on the barrel? U dont mess with the black mamba!!!
I’m cautiously optimistic about this game. I’ve always dismissed the CoD series prior to 4. With 4 and MW2, they do little things that irk me and take away the suspension of disbelief. World at War was even worse: the settings and scenarios were so incredibly Hollywood that I just couldn’t take it seriously. I’ll play Black Ops to completion. Here’s hoping I’ll like it.
Got it preordered, but doubt that I'll go to pick it up tonight. I'm sure I can wait a few more hours. I'm hoping that I like this one seeing how I absolutely loathed WAW
had it forever. No real desire to play it... Edit: After New Vegas i guess it's either this or Finish Castlevania
Where the hell are you at? I would not wait an hour and a half in line for a game, let alone for a number that only allows me to wait in line for the game. It's like the NFL draft all over again!
I didn't enjoy the line after we got the wristband. Scratch that, I didn't enjoy it after the doors opened to get the wristband.
Just came back, and place if full as f*ck. I'm just gonna wait another hour maybe or go back tomorrow..or later today. Whatever. Clark Kent, what do you mean you're waiting for a number? Is that every gamestops policy?
I know every time I’ve preordered a big launch at Gamestop, they’ve used the number system. Had to do that with Metal Gear Solid 4 and Final Fantasy XIII. Go early, get a number, come back later and make the purchase.
You don't have to do it that way. Depending on how big your GameStop is. We gave out people numbers from 9 till bout 11. Out release was pretty much done by 1230ish, because all we had to do was to hand out the games to the people who got a number. We served about 150 people. People who didint get a number (or just didint preorder) had to wait in the back of the number line, that's all really.
No. Same exact thing. "numbering" saves everybody time in the long run. Vs opening doors at midnight, ringing everybody up (wether your game is paid off or not) argue with people who didint bring their IDs and pretty much deal with people who still have issues; You come in, pay it off COMPlETELY, with GameStop giving you your final receipt with the number on it. That happenes between 915ish and 1130ish. When doors open at midnight, you literally walk in (in accordance to your number with #1 going first, #2 second and etc.) show your receipt and we hand you a copy. Like I said, we served about 150 people, with about 80% being numbered in about 30 mins, it saves time. Just a matter of timing.
The number process is just a way of allocating copies at a midnight launch. Has nothing to do with preordering.
I wouldn't imagine I would wait that long either. They said be there at some point between 8-12 to get a number. I'm figuring it's like the ****ing deli at the grocery store. Just give everyone in line a ticket, right? Wrong. I get there at 7:40 just to beat the heavy traffic at 8. Instead, I'm 52nd in line twenty minutes early. And they're only letting 5 people in the store at a time. It was ******ed. Not only that, but we had to wait outside of the mall in the cold weather with light drizzle. I thought about leaving a few times, but the line kept getting longer and longer and I wasn't coming back at midnight to wait again. So I stood there like a dumbass. I'm never going to a midnight launch again. I'll pick that **** up in the mourning. Yeah, that's pretty much how it went down for this gamestop. It just took forever to get numbers and I was 52. At midnight there was at least 200 people there. It only took 5 min or so for me to get my copy. What was cool was they had called Dominoes and they set up a stand I ate some pizza.
so no early reports yet? I'm debating if I want to check this thread again until after I start playing... Probably a good reminder to use the spoiler tags regarding storyline, etc...
I am hating the guns so far. The recoil on some of them is insane. If you play against the computer on hard be prepared for them to always know where you are.
I haven't noticed bad recoil at all. In fact the gun I'm currently using (Enfield) has almost no recoil.
Yeah, recoil is definitely back. I have had some moments where I completely failed because I held down the the trigger and let the gun go wild. Gotta tap it to control most of them. I'm sure I'll adjust. There's a couple of things MW2 did better than BO. I think the player movements, sound effects, and overall production quality is better on MW2. That side, B.O. seems really balanced and I'm loving what they did with multiplayer. I love the money system. It's truly better than anything COD has done before. no more waiting to get X amount of kills to be able to play with a gun the way I wanted to from the word go. Just buy what I like and **** the rest of it. Although I did run into a problem last night while playing with Skeet. The akimbo magnums (with sleight of hand) are ****ing OP. You're guaranteed dead if you run into them. And on the smaller maps, they're crazy good. Right now, my main class is the AK74u w/grip and extended mags. My perks are Ghost, Warlord, and Ninja.
Hm, online or singleplayer? Because I'm using it online and am loving it because it has such little recoil. Maybe it's because I shoot in 3-4 round bursts.
I enjoy it... I haven't played Campaign yet, which I plan to do... There was just someone yelling "play multiplayer" *cough* Skeet *cough* when I bought the game at around 12:30AM. I like the money system. The guns are fine thus far, I don't think there is too much recoil honestly. There are a few things that I will have to get use to but overall it's a good game. I am not sure which multiplayer I like the best (compared to MW2); I think I'll have to get to know the maps well before I decide (aka prestige once). My favorite thing about the game thus far is the wager matches. Gun games is awesome... I just got done playing like an hour and a half of nothing but that.
So far I'm loving it. I've been very surprised by how much I like it since I couldnt stand WAW. If I happen to enjoy the Campaign mode once I play it, it will make it easily one of my all time favorites.
Anyone else think the graphics are a little cartoony sometimes? I was playing single player last night, and was at the cutscene where you're walking through the Pentagon, and it almost felt, at times, that I was playing Goldeneye. LOL. I love the game so far, though.
like the campaign mode (although IMO, not as good as MW2... yet)... barely touched multiplayer last night... got my *** kicked... what else is new?
Call of Dookie is a game made tailor made for the masses. It's the Madden of FPS. Every single year, a new roster update or different guns sends them out in droves. They all will enjoy it until V4.3b comes out next year.
