FinatikmoderatorOPThe team announced today that up to 13,000 fans will be allowed to attend when they host the Bills in Week Two. The team said local authorities have endorsed their plan. Florida has been among the least-restrictive states during the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing sports to take place when other states wouldn’t.
Fans will be seated with social distancing in mind and required to wear a mask when not actively eating or drinking, the team said. Hard Rock Stadium will also have touchless entry and more entrances and exits to reduce crowding. Fans will still have to go through metal detectors, but the team said it will average one metal detector for every 104 fans, compared to one metal detector for every 394 fans in 2019.
Season ticket holders will have first priority in buying single-game tickets.
Lots of people will tell you what they think about you and what you shouldn't and should do. Not everyone's thoughts are worth consideration. Don't take criticism from anyone who you wouldn't also go to for advice.
Rules would be fine if anyone actually enforced. them.
People are going to hold a popcorn or beer in their hand and claim to be "actively eating or drinking"
The social distancing itself means incredibly little considering people will end up violating it,and even if they dont, if I sit in a section above you and sneeze where is that going?
I'm not saying everyone will catch the virus or something, but the rules themselves are nonsensical in terms of impact, regardless whether you consider COVID to be mild like the flu or severe as the black death.

resnorforum_veteranI hate watching the NBA right now. Watched a couple games weeks ago, and have no desire to watch another. Haven't even considered watching baseball.

Have you watched any of the NBA playoffs? At first I thought I'd hate it, but several weeks in it's exactly the same as regular playoff basketball. There's not even home-field advantage in those games but the players have adjusted accordingly as well.

LOL, we both posted on the NBA at the same time. Check out the Heat's game-four tonight...they're going for the 4-0 sweep in the first round. I didn't like it at first either, but teams seem to have figured this stuff out and they're playing at really high levels.

Luka Doncic... i dont know how good he is going to become but I hve a feeling if he becomes the face of the NBA, yesterdays game will be the game they all say this is when he took over the NBA.

Not to mention, I think basketball is terrible now compared to the 80s and 90s...watching The Last Dance recently just verified for me how much I dislike the current NBA game.

The Last Dance was a really good series! It made me see Rodman, Pippen, etc. in a completely different way and I'm really glad they dropped the series during COVID. The quote of the entire show for me was when they told Jordan he had to bulk up after his rookie year to be able to withstand hits from opposing teams. He replied with something like, "No, I need to bulk up so I can dish out the punishment to them!"
My second favorite part was when Rodman asked for a vacation right before the playoffs and the whole conversation that ensued...that seriously cracked me up!
Oh, I don't like the jersey political statements either...it really doesn't serve any purpose since there's no need to "raise awareness." Everyone in this country knows there's some racial issues going on that need to be addressed.

Im all for BLM and the movement.. but the jersey thing is very tacky IMO. I think the giant Black Lives Matter insignia on the court is message enough.. though they could have used a floor marquee instead of the court..
Still doesnt bother me enough not to watch the games though. Its been excellent basketball though some players have suffered without the crowd. Lebron plays much different whether its roars or boos. He needs the crowd to get himself going.

BLM as an idea is great. Support it.
What the actual organization stands for and the leadership are disgusting and I won't watch the pandering to this marxist group. The "woke" athletes most likely don't even know what they signed up for. Just the slogan sounded great. Do your own research.

That's sort of a problem, don't you think? If there is an organization that is behind much of this stuff, with that name, and people don't understand what the organization actually represents? How can we add a country even have a discussion if we aren't meaning the same thing when we talk about "Black Lives Matter"? It's impossible.
brandon27subscriberDisaster in the making; isn't Florida still a Covid hotspot like the rest of the US? Yikes, I can't see how this is going to go well. Especially the mask part. I like that it's fans in the stands, not full empty seats or visual boards. However I'm ok with the later two options if it means keeping people safe & me entertained from the comfort of my home up here.

I'd also like to point out if other cities cant have fans for whatever reason, noone should.
It's going to be a whacky season and despite it being us, I dont want to be the only team or even on the short list of those getting a sort of home field advantage while others dont. In my eyes it would partially taint our season by making the playing field tilt in our favor artificially during home games.

I understand the logic, but to me if you have to push on the rules it's just not the same.
We wouldnt be cheating and I'd take it, I just dont feel good starting with advantages generally.
