I have heard several quotes from players about how much Gase goes out of his way to protect them and to make sure measures are taken so they will be ready to go on Sunday.. so imo, the trade off for him as a coach was to tell them they need to be ready mentally if I'm watching out for you in practice..aka..know what your responsibilities are because we are not practicing them. some players took advantage of that, it kept showing up in the games, bogging down the offense.. lesson learned by a new young head coach..
