Adam Schefter is breaking it right now.

Not many details right now, but I doubt he suits up this weekend. We will face him three weeks later when we head up to New Jersey for the rematch.

Yet another big, talented receiver enters the division. Imagine if we hadn't drafted two corners this year.

I hope he plays on MNF. The guy led the league in dropped passes last year and there won't be much time to develop timing with Snatchez.

I hope the jets gave up a first rounder + something else.

I hope they gave up a #1 too. That should be the price IMO.

Then again, they just traded with the Browns and Mangini. So they probably sent over some chips and a six pack of beer.

He's big, talented and averages about 16 ypc. Caught 16 TD passes two years ago when he had good QB play. A legitimate deep threat just entering his prime.

Sometimes a change of scenery and playing for a good team can revitalize a player. We shall see.

The JETS gave up a mediocre slot reciever in Chansi Stuckey, a special teams player Trusnik and a 3rd round pick.

    Mangini is our *****.

    Unbelievable.

Eric Mangini is a stake in the heart of that franchise.

EDIT: Do you have a link? Mine now says Trusnik and draft picks.

You've gotta be F-in kidding me! This is getting ridiculous now. First Mangini lets the Jets move up from 17 to 4 by giving away 3 average players at best. Now this!

    I'm so pissed about this.

I'm actually bummed about this. He's going to be good for them. He's had it rough in cleveland the last two years, but that whole team is just awful. In NY things will change for him.

Even more bummed out because I'd love to have him here. We need a big #1 type WR, and I think hooking him up with Henne would be huge again like it was at Michigan.

Sure he's got some small off field issues, I'm sure Sparano and company coulda controlled him though.

Oh well, at least we drafted two very promissing corners to defend against him.

But come on FO, the division is stacked with talent at WR and almost ZERO of it is here in Miami. At some point we need to do something to keep up on offense with the pass game. With the WR's we got now, we certainly can't do that.. Not so far anyways.

Hope edwards isn't ready on time for Monday...

You don't have to tell me he sucks. Cleveland had no reason to hire that moron. But it worked out for us because we got Sanchez & now Edwards because of him.

Mangini is weird, he likes his own players, which is why he traded us the 5th spot for players he drafted ( Elam, Ratliff etc). Now he gets more players he drafted, Stuckey, Trusnik etc. The deal is lopsided for a Probowl WR but Im not complaining. A change of scenery worked for Randy Moss, Im hoping it works for Edwards too.

I'm now hearing two picks and two players.

DLJ's report is probably right, along with an additional (probably late round) pick.

EDIT: Thanks for the update. :)

The guy couldn't handle the limelight in Cleveland, how's he gonna handle the New York media?

But yes, Mangini is a ***** for not getting a 1st rounder.

not worried in the slightest.....our corners were drafted for even better receivers (moss, to, evans, welker) they can handle Sir Stonehands. no big deal imo.

Mangini is dumber than most Jets fans, that is true.

So he's Chris Chambers 2.0? the kid has never fully lived up to his talent.

I think Davone Bess has outproduced him so far.

Also he has top develop chemistry with his new team and learn a new playbook, its really going to take time before he makes any noticeable impact in that offense.

The last time he had good QB play, Edwards had 1300 yards and 16 TD's. Look at the QB play that followed.

Yes he drops some passes. But so does Terrell Owens.

Davone Bess is averaging 8 ypc this year. Edwards is at 14. They are two different players.

If he gets his head on straight, he'll be an outstanding player for the Jets. If it doesn't happen there, it ain't going to happen. But he is ecstatic about leaving Cleveland.

Jay Glazer said they want to get him out there Monday.

Edwards heart is not into football, hes more into being an actor in cleveland then he was a football player, what do you think hes gonna do in NY? hes an explosive wideout, but he doesnt give a **** about football, hes more into partying and such. im not worried about this guy.

Trades for play makers generally do not work out; I will hold my concern until he proves to be more then a flash in the night. Until then, he is a bust who has only had 1 good season.

Bess has a whopping 19 more yards despite having twice as many receptions.

7.9 ypc is pathetic. Nothing against Bess, this isn't about him. But Ronnie Brown gets more than that.

regardless of who is outproducing who and my obvious homerism aside.

Edwards has not lived up to his potential, could Mark Sanchez change that? Possibly but I doubt it, he hasnt played as well as he did in 07.

I tend to agree with your way of thinking. Put it this way, how would we all be acting right now if it was Miami that had made that steal, er, I mean deal? I think we'd all be elated. I know I would be. True, he's had his issues with drops, and he's a bit of a prima donna, but you can't argue the talent isn't there. He just needs to put it all together. Questions is, and as has already been pointed out, can he do it in NY?

    Only time will tell.
