Just saw this on twitter. Ben Volin. Apparent leg injury. Hopefully nothing serious. Please post updates here if anything of note comes up. We are screwed if he is out an extended period of time.
The problem is you can still limp off the field with some big time injuries. The suspense is gonna KILL me!!! Everyone gather around, take a knee and the hand of the person next to you . . .
That would be probably be the most devastating injury this team could suffer. Maybe even worse than Marshall. Hopefully he's ok.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE just be a twisted ankle or a cramp. I would accept a sprain at this point. Just no knee or season ending injuries PLEASE!!!
Noooooooooooo..dude is barely quick enough to play RT, LT would get Henne wounded. May as well make this the Tweet thread: The bolded portion should be comforting...
Might as well either start Pat White and keep Henne healthy, OR we master the art of the 1-step drop passing game.
The thing is if it is an high ankle sprain or anything, at least he has some time before the season starts to heal. Those can be a 4-6 week injury so whatever it is at hopefully it is something in that 4-6 week range or less.
Prior to the tb preseason game i thought Gardner could be a fairly decent first option at LT. Probably Carey first and Gardner at RT. Although long term i reckon Jerry could move to LT.
Well, at least we get Murtha some more snaps at left tackle against the 1st stringers this time to see what he can do. How big is that injury to Nate Garner right now? ****ing huge.
For the love of God, someone Tweet an update or do something that will give us information. I'm supposed to go eat and I've just been waiting here and refreshing lol.
Left tackle Jake Long, the former No. 1 overall pick and the anchor of the offensive line, left practice about 15 minutes early with an apparent right leg injury. Though he was able to walk off the field under his own power, Long walked gingerly and favored his right leg. That was from Volin's article. / blog. Nothing new there.
http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/thed...ke-long-leaves-practice-early-with-an-injury/ No real description of what Jake was doing at the time..so FWIW. Alen and myself had a good debate about this very scenario.
I was going to say this last night at the board meaning what if we lost Long or Carey. We would be in big trouble. I decide not to even bring it up but I thought it. I feel somehow strangely responsible. I sure as hell hope he is okay.
Ken Lavicka (KLV on twitter) said it was the least profound limp of Training Camp, so perhaps this is merely chatter?
I really want to chalk this up to a writer trying to make more of it than it is in order to get followers on twitter. Maybe I hope.. ..in my happy place.....in my happy place....in my happy place.....
Shoot me in the face!!!! Why is everybody getting hurt this preseason?? God please let it be something he can shake off in the next couple weeks. We are screwed without Jake.
Cramps! Twitter-mania: every bump and bruise is covered no matter how minor. That and AJ Edds having the first injury which did turn out major makes for a crazy (not so much brave) new world. http://twitter.com/MikeBerardino/status/21591588629 http://twitter.com/BenVolinPBP/status/21591564392
