I dont know why you would hate him... Its not about the money he just wants to make the right decision and the media blows it up and puts it all over everything.

Kudos to Green Bay for locking the door behind him. Its unfair for Favre to string them along like he has the last few years.

That's true and there will be a major fan backlash in GB especially if Aaron Rodgers stinks it up this season.

I never thought I'd see this day its definitely strange. I don't understand why the Packers wouldn't want Favre back (Rodgers is still a young guy), this will surely get fun. Also I'm starting the countdown to seeing a "Favre should come to Miami" thread started in the main dolphins forum (well maybe that was more of a FH tradition I'm not sure yet).

I honestly dont believe he'd go to Minn. I believe he'll pull a Zach and stay away from a division rival.

The consensus amongst fans on ESPN.com is that it'll be Minny or the Jets. Id laugh my *** off if he went to Jersey B.

I could see him with Baltimore. A top defense to go along with a productive Running Back and good receivers. All they need is a QB and they could go far in the playoffs.

No I disagree. Their defense isn't the same. Its top 10 but not top 5. Were talking about the AFC, I doubt they would get a wildcard.

Not only does Favre want to go to a contender, but he wants to go to one that has high quality receivers. So I think the Jets would be out, and I think Minnesota as well... Tampa Bay has a shot even though they don't really have the receivers, Favre would love to end up with Gruden (are you kidding me, that's an interesting pairing). An interesting team would be the Cardinals... given their two stud receivers, and an improving defense... I could see that happening.

I had a lot of respect for Favre especially the way he handled himself through all those personal tragedies. But this is starting to erode that.

Minnesota has Berrian and Rice and a better team than the Bucs. Bucs have a shot. I don't think the Cards because of Lineart and Warner.

Why Bucs? They have multiple QB's and their starter is the same age as Favre or one year younger.

Minnesota or Baltimore makes the most sense to me. He'd start for both teams. Though I don't know how he'd feel going against Green Bay. It isn't like they screwed him over so there shouldn't be a grudge

I'm agreeing with you on the choices except the Bucs. Unless, they feel that they are a QB away from the SB.

Anyone want to guess as to why he doesn't want to play for Green Bay anymore? Is it just because they don't seem too keen on bringing him back or does he really just prefer to play for a new team?

    Three reasons.

    1. GM Thompson doesn't want him back.
    2. He has a rift with Thompson.
    3. Half of the locker room dislikes Favre.

Favre will want to play for a team with veteran leadership and talented veterans.

Kansas City, Miami, Detroit and San Francisco are out of it and Chicago and the Jets (please lord Baby Jesus, 6lbs 7oz's make this happen) are long shots. The most likely landing spots are Tampa Bay, Minnesota and Baltimore.

GB is in the driver seat not Farve...if he wants to be reinstated he will be GB property. I can see them working a trade vs. simply releasing him. They control his destiny, but he did force their hand now.

There are not too many good teams who need a QB....I think maybe Minny, the Bears, and the Baltimore Ravens would make the most sense. I am sure Green Bay doesn't want him to stay in their division, so maybe a team like Baltimore???

I wouldn't think so. The only thing I could think of that the Packers could say is that the Vikings may have had a part in luring him back to play. It may not be true but they could make a case for it, especially since he stated that he wanted to come back, be released and the Vikings already inquired.

One other note is that I noticed in the excerpt from the article that BK posted, it stated that Darrell Bavell is the Vikings current OC and that he was Favre's QB coach from '00-'05. In those five years with Bavell coaching Favre, his averages were an 85.2 QB rating, 62.1% completion percentage, 26 TD's and an average of 22 interceptions.

Apart from those years ('00-'05), I did his career numbers with the Packers. He raised his completion percentage .9%, QB rating was 9.3 lower, 2 touchdowns lower and his interceptions were five more than his career average of 17. Those numbers are the differences between his career numbers done (excluding the Bavell years which are listed in the second paragraph).

According to the stats above, Bavell had an negative impact on Favre's career in those years he was coaching him (aside from the completion %).

This is selfish. I've always thought Favre was a selfish person by the way he handles things. So far, nothing he has done can disprove that. From his countless press conferences to discuss what he had for dinner, to his game of Louisiana No Hold-em with the GB front office. I'm so tired of this guy. I was happy that he found a way to go out gracefully still on top of his game. But my gawd, was it all a charade to avoid the rigors of the offseason? At least be a man and own up to what you're trying to do. I hope he gets his wish, and then realizes that he is nothing without the team that surrounded him in GB. And not just the team either. The fans, the media, everyone in GB worshiped him. Another team will accept him with open arms, but the expectations will be great. And instead of winning 'for Favre', he will be forced to win it for his new team.

In the end. I think GB locks him out of the league, as they should.
