what this means: 1) is we have a chance to win some games with a NFL class QB Pennington is the RealDeal, the ProvenBull 2) Pennington has enough arm from what I saw in pre-season to get it down field when needed 3) he consistently stretches the field laterally, which is more effective in most case than going deep 4) how many passes are completed by any QB going for broke? most are missed, few are hits. the deep threat is much overrated, in reality a moderately deep threat & tremendous accuracy are preferable & win more games than the bomb & bullet. 5) yak is extremely important & suddenly we have receivers with yak potential on the roster, if you can get them the ball I'll take winning over bombs & bullets any day. the coaching cadre apparently agree with me. just took them about four games too long to see the obvious
Pennington is excellent in the red zone though no question. I don't think Carpenter will be seeing as much work. Honestly if we're not hitting the deep pass Henne isn't the right quarterback.
