Giving a player a pass because of success elsewhere is ridiculous.
You would think you would hold a higher standard for a star that is hanging the ball out during the run.
If he is going to do that I'd rather he catch the ball, turn around and fall down like last season and maintain that 2.8 yard YAC avg.

That doesn't apply to the broad version? So, if you're a fan of the Miami Dolphins no bias will be created there? It applies the same dude. That makes zero sense.

If you love a player, are you going to defend them? Absolutely. However, if you love a team, you're going to defend them in the same manner.

Coming back from the surgery, limited offseason last year and his lack of explosion that I'm sure he knew wasn't there probably was exasperated due to his mental disorder. Maybe since he has gotten training regiment back and at least now knows that he had an issue mentally, he can get back to the elite player he was prior to us trading for him. Even with his issues and physical state last year, he was not too bad, but he was not elite. He seems to be back to that level now and we can only look forward to wild and wonderful things from him now. The addition of another playmaker (Bush) to the team also takes some pressure off him as D's need to be aware, at the very least, of Bush's presence...could be very exciting if the OL holds together...

To get back on schedule, Brandon has looked really good this preseason. I expect him to have a nice season. I hope he gets the TD numbers up, because that means Henne is throwing them and we're scoring more points.

Hey if you want to worship your idols go right ahead just don't say you'll give them a pass because of who they are when they make a mistake.
That just doesn't look good at all as a fan.
So called stars should be held to higher standards.

I don't think anyone is okay with his turnover.

The point is, Brandon Marshall only has 5 fumbles lost in 75 games played in the NFL. So its hard to criticize him for fumbling.

All turnovers are the same... They all piss me off. You would just expect star veteran players not to make those types of mistakes.
Meh..... but what do I know I'm just the guy who makes everyone hate Chad Henne.

No one is giving Marshall a pass. Everybody agrees he fumbled and that fumbles are bad. But he also had a pretty good game otherwise. And no reasonable person is going to let one play (or one stat for that matter) erase a lot of other good plays. That would be irrational. It's what you see happen with so many people in the Henne threads and whatKiller does in the Marshall threads.

Then, of course, the irrational party accuses everybody else of being a player X lover.

Marshall screwed up and fumbled. I would imagine he's done it before, however I can't remember when. Those types of mistakes are mistakes and hurt the team's chances but it's not the type of mistakes he makes over and over again. It's actually gone pretty much untalked about here.

However, had that been Henne interception this board would have been lit up like a Christmas tree and they probably would've had to replace the servers.

    I know, I know… I had to mention Henne somehow though…

Great read...so easy to forget that when a player has surgery for an injury, particularly a lower body injury, he won't really have a chance to become fully healthy until the following year. I didn't think last year he played close to being the BEAST he was in Denver. Then to read the dedication Marshall had during the off season to make sure he is better than ever before...AWESOME!

I have the feeling that the only things that may keep Miami from making a Super Bowl run are injuries and a porous OL.
