i agree. we win, we're a playoff team and a potential contender. We lose, seasons kind of over in this division. (a loss would mean we would need the pats to lose 4 games this season, i just dont think that'll happen)

I agree. I think your win last week against Cincy sealed it for them and kept you guys in the race. This is another game that will seriously hurt both teams (although I feel it could hurt Miami more than the Ravens because of your current record). There are a lot of good teams playing in the AFC right now, that's for sure.

I disagree slightly. We have two games coming up that will define us. Balt and Tenn. If we win both, we are a strong candidate to make the playoffs and we are a team to be reckoned with. If we split we're still in the chase for the wildcard. If we lose both our season is over. The next two will define us, not just the next one

That's a good point. You never know. Maybe one or two of the teams currently at the top of the AFC could end up having losing streaks to finish the season while the Dolphins finish strong and make the playoffs.

Either way, every game is important for each team to win, obviously.

That quote is taken out of context. Go watch the full press conference at MD.com. A reporter then asked him "what makes this game a defining moment?"

BM then responded "because it is the next game, I will say it is a defining moment every week, just not in those exact words" or something along those lines.

I think this team in general, regardless of opponent sees the game as defining. We are 4-3 and 2 games back from the Pats at 6-1. Everyone realizes the sense of urgency in my opinion, every game. That is the way they are coached.

From the Movie "There Will Be Blood." Day Lewis spazzed out and proclaimed, "I DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE! I DRINK IT UP!" pretty much proclaiming that he's going to do what ever he wants to do to him.

What if the Jets and (more so) the Patriots keep winning games?

BTW, sorry we couldn't beat the Patriots a few weeks ago. :pity:

The Steelers is the team getting in our way. It would have been really nice for you guys to have beat them. At least now we're first place in the division and it's ours to lose. We keep winning and we'll knock the Steelers out of the division and hopefully the playoffs entirely! LOL

    agree completely with Marshall
does that mean if we lose there will be a redefinition or capitulation?
obviously, if we win we're well defined!

If this game was a defining moment for the Dolphins. They have been defined as a mediocre team with no chance to make the playoffs this season. When an offense can't score more then one TD a game. They have to be considered a terrible offense. Which the Dolphins offense is at this point. The defense is above average but they are not capable of playing the dominant defense needed to carry the lousy offense the Dolphins play week to week. The Dolphins showed clearly today that they can not play with the top teams in the NFL and that they are the same middle of the pack team which they have been for years.

The next few games will tell and I hope I'm wrong. Watching that dog**** play today makes me worry. The good part is you don't hear about any infighting or see out of control players on the field.

Were we on a downward spiral when we lost to the Steelers? We just won last week. Were we on an upward swing just because of that game?

Sometimes your team just sucks. Doesn't mean you're headed downhill.

I didn't see us as taking a step back in the game against the steelers. But I did see it happening in this game. Nothing looked good but Cameron Wake, Ronnie Brown, The O Line and Brian Hartline. Alot of garbage play from pretty much everyone else. Sean Smith and Marshall were two of the worst offenders. Oh and Fasano with those drops.

I am glad to see that the players are not out of control on the field or that there is no infighting on the team. All this means is the Dolphins have a lot of players who play by the rules and seem to like one another. Unfortunately it doesn't mean that these players are very good. Give me a team that hates each other and commits out of control penalties if it means they are a playoff quality team. I don't want a bunch of nice guys who follow the rules on the team. I want some head knocking SOB's who
play great football. I could care less if they like one another or not.
