Here’s the important info with the Tom Brady deal, per source. It’s a 2-year extension with $70M in new money. He’ll earn $23M this year ($8M raise) while trimming $5.5M off the cap, bringing Pats space to about $14.5M. He’s on the books for $30M in ‘20, $32M in ‘21.

And finally, the two sides plan to be flexible with the structure of Brady’s contract in 2020 and 2021. They’ll rework it if necessary. Given their history of doing this, that should be easy.

Its very unfortunate, but we can still hope that the quality of his play suddenly falls off, and he plays like crap.

Brady's game is designed for longevity. He's not the big armed guy who impresses you with deep throws. Other than the time with Moss, that was never a big part of his game. What Brady has always done as well as anyone is get the ball out quickly, accurately and to the right guy. Unfortunately, he'll probably be great at that for a long time.

Sources: #Patriots QB Tom Brady’s new deal includes a provision that does not allow NE to franchise or transition tag him for the 2020 season. The final two years automatically void on the last day of the 2019 league year, but he cannot be tagged. Brady will be a free agent.

I hope he blows out his achillies tendon in Week 1.

Tanking is like taking a Greyhound bus cross-country. Sure, it may eventually get you where you want to go, but it’s messy and unpleasant and uncomfortable, it stinks, the entire time you’ll be wishing you weren’t there, and not everybody along for the ride is going to make it to the end. - Quote stolen from Deadspin

I'm more worried about Stidham,, the rookie from Auburn. I liked his potential and one thing the patriots do well is coach quarterbacks up to their potential
