For everyone who wanted Brady Quinn here is some news out of Cleveland. http://www.cleveland.com/sports/plaindealer/index.ssf?/base/sports/12172338965690.xml&coll=2 NOT GOOD!
I agree Desides.. sounds like our qb corp. Mostly, all that matters is that the guy we DID pick, raises to the occasion.
Sounds like Quinn had the exact same type of day that half the forum is freaking out over with regards to Beck. Heck, Quinn even threw a fumble in for free.
Q I don't think Quinn has the mental fortitude to be a starter in the NFL. THe Browns should have picked Trent Edwards! Everyone knew he'd be the cream of the 2007 QB crop and he's fully proved himself already! Quinn's had PLENTY of time to adapt. He shouldn't have any bad practice days. He's a first rounder there should be no growth period necessary! He's too muscular and will never be accurate! If he dosen't start this year it's time to scrap him and move on. If he hasn't been able to adapt to the speed of the NFL game yet after all this time then he never will! Sorry I just couldn't help myself. For everyone jumping on Beck after that one practice how does it feel to see the Golden child (the guy that all those negative on Beck from day one wanted) have a bad day as well? Perspective guys.
Don't forget that he has those Subway, Myoplex, and Gay Facebook Dating Ads to fall back on also. So he does have other options!
Brady Quinn will be the Jets starting Quarterback in 2009. One bad day of practice isn't going to stop teams with Quarterback issues trying to trade for him after this season is over and Derek Anderson has another solid Pro Bowl season.
Almost everybody on this board wanted Quinn (even CK and Boomer). Let's not get into revisionist histroy.
You're conveniently passing over what I believe was the point of this thread. You've got everyone hanging on every pass from Beck and Henne being reported by bloggers from Phins camp. Making decisions on their futures based on those reports from a few TC practices. Here's a guy that everyone thought was a lock to be a top NFL QB and he's struggling still just like they are. It's not a knock on Quinn either. It's simply a point to get people to realize the reality of the process and time it takes to see if a prospect can grow into a success in the NFL.
Talk about the worst possible scenario playing out. I cant possibly root against Quinn, but I cant possibly root for the Jets
Sooooo....Whatchu gonna do if the Angles and Cubies end up in the WS.... End of Game 7 and Vlad is facing Szmardiaigcia. or however you spell his name
You are so right I didn't post it to "Fire" anyone up I just felt after Sundays report about John that the other QB's from 2007 weren't fairing any better and wanted to show it. Russell, I read, fumbled one of his first snaps also so it's not just about John or Brady any young QB is going to have his problems unless the team is Super Bowl ready and the QB is very lucky and Good!
Love this quote by him: I dunno, maybe if Hall was a higher pick he would give the kid more credit, still find of a pompous remark in my eyes, I mean Rodgers didn't "fall into a good play" as he saw it.
