Brady Quinn ??

I was wondering what you guys would think about maybe pursuing Brady Quinn in the off season if the Browns are convinced that Anderson is their QB of the future. Do you think maybe offering the Browns our 2nd round two pick (2B) would be worthwhile to get Quinn?, and would the Browns be willing to part with him for this? Do you think Quinn is about on the same level as Beck in overall talent? I also could see us maybe going after a QB like Colt Brennan in the 2nd round. Thoughts?
I'd rather them draft a QB with the 2nd pick rather than trading for Quinn.
No way Moon Runner. We need ALL of our picks. I just don't think we can write off Beck just yet and if Parcells wants a QB, it's going to be a veteran QB.
I'd consider trading a 6th round pick for Quinn :)
Otherwise unless there is someone in the draft that is as close to a "sure thing" as possible, I'd rather stick it out with what we have. I'd like to get back to having the QB be our main problem rather than one of a LONG LIST of problems.

There is a long list of needs but one thing that we haven't been solid at since Marino's retirement is the quarterback position. Until we struggle finding the quarterback of the future we will continue to be a mediocre team.
We have to take a look at a quarterback in the later rounds or if Parcells doesn't have faith in Beck draft Ryan .

I totally agree that we will be mediocre until we find our QB of the future. I just think it is going to suck if we just have Green/Lemon/Beck to guide us next year. QB is the key position and you see very few teams making the playoffs with average to below average QB's. If we had a great defense, we could maybe win with an average QB, but our defense is having as many problems as our offense. Hopefully the Tuna will come up with a winning plan.
I wouldn't go for Quinn unless we could sign him off the Browns practice squad. I watched enough of his games at ND to know he was WAY overhyped.

And I don't want to write Beck off in only four starts but we have to do something. I think there will be some nice quarterbacks on the 2nd day we can look at. Not sure who I'm sold on yet but that's what the Bowl games are for.

I hope Colt is around in the 2nd.I don't think Parcells is willing to go after Quinn IMO,but one never knows.
it might be possible doesnt parcells have a history with the ND coach?
"I want to buy the groceries" Bill Parcells
Bill would be able to find out about Quinn before trying to trade for him

If they look to trade Quinn why not take a look at him? I doubt they will but I'm just saying.

the browns have to commit to anderson this offseason, they cannot franchise him because they did not draft him, so it would be the highest tender on anderson that is a first and third pick

I want Brennan with one of our picks (not the #1 obviously) but I don't think the "Tuna" regime will spend an early pick on a QB this year, we have to draft defense.

And you'd believe they'd lock him up considering he's led them to their best season in years.
Anyone think Alex Smith is going to be out of San Fran soon?
Edit: Let me clear it up, Alex Smith hasn't proven **** but if he does get released would it hurt to take a look at him?

I wouldn't hesitate at all to part with a second for Quinn, as I think he is better than any of the quarterbacks this year, but I doubt that we do that this year.. too many needs on defense and o-line

Quinn is worse than Beck. In what way?
Quinn has been sitting their bench and nobody knows a thing about him. At least Beck has been in our system on our bench (and nobody knows a thing about him.)

They can tender him for a 1st and 3rd and then trade him.
Remember, they gave up a lot to get a chance to draft Quinn, they won't cast him aside.
Anderson will be starting some where next year...but it won't be in Cleveland...IMO.

wow...how bad would that make Cam look if we went after a qb he passed up on draft day.

Joe Flacco might be a nice guy to pick up later.
lol i was gonna post the same thing earlier but i couldnt remember his name.
You know parcells will talk to the the charlie weiss to determine if he is worth a look

I think the Dolphins have to consider something like it, I'm sure you will get the normal "draft a QB in later rounds" responses from these boards because that's the in thing to say, despite the fact all positions have the same success/fail ratio depending what round they were drafted in...people want to just spit out something because Brady was a 6th and Romo undrafted.
Granted I'm still hopeful Beck will work but considering how he looked when he played and how bad lemon looks and is still getting the start over him I wouldn't bet much on Beck working out.
I still would love to see Brown traded for a first round pick and the fins draft mcfadden. Everyone is crying defense but our offense is still the weakest link and Brown just can't be counted on considering how much we need to lean on him.
Parcells is going to pick up a veteran QB in FA and him and Beck will battle it out in TC. He is not stupid enough to pick up another rookie QB that might or might not be a bust. This team has so many other problems to fill before blowing a pick on a new QB.
I can't believe that so many people on here have given up on Beck after he played 3 games and trew 2 passes on the 4th before Cam took him out.I know Bill might bring in a QB but that'd be a vet and I think Beck should get a shot next year.
Ozzy rules!!
