    I took the powder, American Sports Nutrition, it was what the gym I went pretty much endorsed so I went with it. Seemed to work well, I've had Muscle Milk before and while it tastes good, it's loaded with calories like you said. The only reason why I even take protein powder is because it seems to take away soreness after lifting for me... I'm not a big dieter so I don't take supplements.. They're a waste of money if you don't have a proper diet.

    Actually, that soreness is good for muscle hypertrophy according to a few articles I've had to read for my class. You don't want to have too much but it's good to have that soreness because then the body will adapt to it better (i.e. in the form of muscle fibers increasing in size and better tensile strength).

    Yep. I started putting on weight around 32 or 33. I shot up maybe 40 lbs in 4 years between 32 and 36.

    That "muscle soreness" has a name and its called "Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness" or DOMS for short. If you are getting that the next day after a workout, you are doing things right :up:

    Yep, exactly. In fact, taking pain relievers to lessen the soreness actually has detrimental effects.

    Thats right.. if ur not sore, A)either youre doing something wrong, B) Your body has gotten used to your workout and you need to switch things up. You should always be putting our muscles through shock
