I have only paid more then $20 for like 6 titles so far (and all were/are pre-orders). The rest I typically pay $15 for anyways (though I got like 1/2 used).

A lot of those title were on sale over the past few weeks for around $15. No way should some of those be $28.

    Good. I've been buying too many cheap HD-DVD's anyways. Current tally, HD-DVD = 14, Blu-Ray = 9.

Heh, for DVD's you can just tack the 9 in front of the 14.

    Damn!

I used to have like 200 Dvd's, but 160 or so got stolen, which has allowed me to get hi-def versions without feeling bad about it, lol.

I pretty much scoured the used sections and having the local Blockbusters and Hollywood videos hold liquidation sales helped (20 hit and latest DVD's for $5), lol. But I guess if hi-def versions drop to normal DVD prices (usually like $16-18 for new ones here), I'll make the switch or if they include more high-def exclusives.

Jeez, 160 stolen? At once or piecemeal?

I'm glad to hear that. I want more BD movies.

At once, I had them in boxes in my car because I was moving. Car got stolen, and two boxes were never recovered even though they found mar car. Out of like 7 or 8 boxes those were th eonly two not recovered. Half of them I got for less then $10 (each) used I am sure.

I refuse to buy SD movies now, unless there are no HD alternatives.

Took the DVD's, not the car? :pointlol:

Well, that's a good plan anyways. I refuse to buy HD unless it really should be seen in HD (i.e. Sci-fi, action movies. You don't really buy comedies for the visual effects) or it's close enough to SD prices. I'm really wishing Indy 4 comes out with the rest of the Indy movies in Blu-Ray.

I agree with Homer Simpsons. Watching in SD is like watching it with sand in your eyes.

That is why I get Superbad on Blu Ray.

I do wait for good deals though

They stole the car, just got it back. Only reason not all the boxes were still there was because they popped a tire and left the boxes somewhere when they took the spare out of the trunk.

And I buy comedies and dramas for visual and sound effect. There is a huge difference between DolbyHD /DTS-MA and just Dolby/DTS.

    Ah, I see.

Eh, I don't really consider it worth that much for comedies. But everybody has his or her own preferences. Frankly, since visual quality and audio quality aren't that important to me in a comedy, I can save a few bucks.
