Giardi also adds that unlike Junior Seau, Shobel is looking for big money. Schobel would join Tully Banta-Cain as the starting linebackers, relegating Rob Ninkovich to backup duty. Whether or not the Patriots decide to bring Schobel on board probably hinges on how confident the team is with rookie third rounder Jermaine Cunningham seeing playing time right off the bat. Schobel told the Chronicle two weeks ago that he wanted to play for the Texans because they were just an hour from his home. Now he says he's tired of dieting to get down to 240 pounds, and he wants to eat and weigh 270. "I'm done with it," Schobel said, prepared to walk away from millions of dollars.
