Apparently Soliai gets the nod in the middle, Starks rolls back to RE.

Thigpen is your #2 QB. Could we see Wild Thiggy?

He couldn't practice until Friday. Undoubtedly lost weight too.

He'll be up next week I'm sure.

I love it! All we need is for Solai to do well, and it will open up a lot of things. Starks can be a beast at DE. It will be interesting to see how they put together some blitz packages from his side.

Regarding IAF, probably lost quite a bit of weight and might still be feeling the ill effects of that stomach virus. Personally, I wonder if he's even that good anyways, but I'd imagine he'd be back next week.

Makes sense to move Starks back to end with Odrick out. Plus, Soliai has been playing pretty well.

Figured as much when Ryan Baker got called up. He will be the backup NT.

Edit: Guess not...Ryan is out. Guess Starks will be splitting time.

Do you think this is solely a response to the Odrick injury or has Soliai earned a shot?

It would be nice if Soliai proves that he's good enough to man the nose permanently. Leaving Starks at end can only be a good thing for our defense.

It'd be nice for him too. He's in a contract year. ;)

Definitely in response to the injury. Odrick is the starter. Everybody played well up front last week. Soliai has certainly played well enough in 2010 that they're comfortable enough to move him up. I like that McDaniel will remain a reserve. Still deep.

McD can play some NT as well as DE.

Expect more 4 man rush lines today:

    Wake/Starks/Soliai/Langford or McD.

I hope they still move Starks inside in passing situations though b/c I love his ability to get pressure up the middle. I thin that's a big key against Favre.

Soliai has shocked the hell out of me. After letting the team down twice last year by suspension, I wanted him cut.

He is a different player this year, and does deserve this shot. He did earn it.

I am with Rafael on this. One of the reasons Starks was moved to NT is because of his ability to rush the passer from there .Against Favre it would be effective.

I hope they switch them around depending on circumstances

You just wonder how much of it is due to the contract situation. Will he keep it going when he gets paid?
