a 24-25 yr old world class athlete could lose 20 lbs in 12 hours if they had too. im not concerned one bit. if we're talkin about me losing 20, then be worried.

if they do think he;s heavy, they'll get him to lose. dont sweat it bro. we have a lot to look forward to. just be happy ota's are here!

even if he added 20 lbs of fat, he could shed that in the first 10 days of training camp, EASY.

No offense, but he's not training for a strong man competition or the Olympics. He's a running back. Stamina and endurance are important.... as is not re-injuring his knee b/c of "power lifting". He's not training for a competition, nor does he have to become a pudge-pudge to continue getting stronger.

Muscle gain comes from protein.... carbs provide the fuel. It can basically be broken down to a science so that you can add muscle/strength gains w/o adding a floatie around your waist. Body builders look "round" in the belly during the offseason b/c they already have large muscular abs that protrude even when they're at 5% bodyfat. It makes most of them have "outies" for Pete sake. LOL.

When Ronnie is on the field, the only "extra" 15 pounds of fat we should be seeing is attached to the nipples of our cheerleaders.

For a skilled position to not be in shape is laziness....Become a school teachers if you want to do nothing in the offseason.

In general terms.... it's not the fact that they can lose 20 lbs in 24 hours.... it's the fact that it took months to put on those 20 pounds....it's the fact that those months could've been used more productively. The offseason is the time they "should" be focusing hardcore on their bodies/conditioning b/c it's the only time of the year when games and practice don't interfere.

Yes, we're not talking about you, me, or the rest of us. Most, if not all, of us don't get paid millions for a job that relies on physicality, endurance, conditioning, and athleticism. LOL.

Even if an entire offseason was spent on studying film.... a player can pick a healthier snack than jelly doughnuts.

So's power. And power lifting does not automatically mean he will re injure his knee. By that logic beign in training camp can re injure his knee. He does not have to become chubby to get stronger, but it is something that is done. Thats all I was pointing out. It is definately not something to automatically link with laziness.

No bodybuilders look round because they train for bulk and eat for bulk. They put fat on everywhere and are not as cut. They do not put on straight fat of course, but they do put on pounds of fat. Yes, you can add the muscle without the bulk, but again it is done differently. Again it does not automatically mean he is being lazy.

You assume thats why he looks bigger is because he is lazy.

No.... I'm just making a generalized statement... that anyone who has shown that they can basically be "in shape" and now are "not in shape" is now a member of the lazy club.

If one "can" be in shape and is not, then something is missing from the equation. I could wake up tomorrow morning at 5:30 to go fishing, but I'll probably sleep in till 10. :shifty: See where I'm going? LOL. It's all a matter of desire.

And I certainly wouldn't lump Ronnie into the realm of bodybuilding. Like you said- bodybuilders add "fat" to their entire bodies, *not just their midsection*. I understand you're only giving reasons why Ronnie could be that way, however I disagree that's one of the reasons. No biggie.

and I have shown why someone might show up heavier then they were as not being a member of the lazy club. You are still assuming he is not in shape because he is lazy. You are saying it is not one so it has to be the other, in other words he does not look in shape so he has to automatically be lazy. I have shown why someone might not look in shape, but it is not because they are lazy.

Why won't anyone listen to unluckyluciano?

I would bet money on the fact that Ronnie is doing serious muscle and power building this offseason. To get bigger you have to go into hypertrophy and take in a surplus of calories, and often do less cardio too... you don;t have ripped abs while in a serious muscle-gaining mode.

If Ronnie is adding 5 pounds of muscle, he'll probably add 15 pounds of fat along with that during the process.

THEN you start to condition again and strip down. Take your caloric intake back down again too.

    Gain dirty.
Lean up and clean up later.

Now if Ronnie wants the stamina and conditioning to last the season without losing his freshness, he'll need to show up in July with less fat already and hitting the cardio more.

    Page me in July.

No offense, but the day the team is willing to use him more than 10-15 carries a game, is the day I'll worry about his endurance.

Thanks. Looks like he's pretty normal to me. I watched the video again, and I just think however it was shot (I'm assuming widescreen) made everyone look wider than normal.

But there's no way Ronnie Brown is 25lbs overweight!

    its called respect...

If after knowing someone on this board that i respect, and that said person sees something or wants to express their opinion about something, then i listen, and respect what it is their trying to say because i know they have knowledge of the game, not some schmuck thats spewing from the mouth.

I think this has come to an end. If you have nothing good to say in a thread, then I suggest you move to the next thread, and don't leave a negative post just to do so.
