Yeah, we should sign some more guys! If we're done with the signings of Wilson and Berger, then i would be shocked!
I wonder where we will take a center in the draft? I hope one of the better ones are left in the second round.
Someone correct me here If im wrong, but wasnt the problem with Berger the first time around when he was with us that he couldn't stay healthy? If I recall, I thought I remember reading we were pretty high on him, but he just couldn't stay healthy. Was that Berger, or someone else I'm thinking of?
As Phil Hartman would say... HA! You are correct SIR... It was Berger, and for that reason, I am a little shocked at the signing.
Thanks, thats what I thought. I just wasnt 100% sure. I guess its a good depth signing though. We could use some depth along the OL so its all good I suppose. Hopefully he's found a way to keep himself healthy and he's over those injuries.
Well after we released him and he went to Dallas in 2006, in 2007 and 2008 he only played in a total of 4 games. I dont know if that was because of injury or skill, but I am sure Sparano knows what he is doing... The shock of it wont go away though until I see how he is doing in OTA's and TC.. He could very well suck and end up being released, or hopefully he pushes and is finally a diamond in the rough
Well I'd think the strength of the line in Dallas probably leads to his lack of playing time there. Like you said though, with Sparano, Ireland and Parcells being in Dallas with him, there must be something they like in him. So just have to wait and see how it plays out. Like I said, I thought that when he was here, people thought he was supposed to be a good player, just couldnt stay healthy. So... hopefully they know something we dont, im willing to bet they do
I assume this is a depth signing and that Berger will not be asked to start. He will be there mentor our many young OL, including the young C we draft in April.
mentor? I dont know about that... the guy has hardly played. I think he's just simply another body thats capable of playing a few positions on the line. Simply for depth only if I had to guess.
