Source: Tank Johnson to join BengalsComment Email Print Share By John Clayton ESPN.com Archive The Cincinnati Bengals added some much-needed size on their defensive line by reaching a one-year agreement with Tank Johnson, according to a source. Johnson For Johnson, whose career started with the Bears and most recently continued with the Cowboys, he will get a chance to go back to a more natural position along the defensive line. Johnson will play the "three-technique'' for the Bengals, giving him the chance to do some pass rush and shoot the gaps to make plays. The Cowboys tried to make him a nose tackle in their 3-4 defense the past couple of years. will they ever learn ?? another turd in the punchbowl.
Indeed Johnson has been a good citizen since his issues, one of the few guys who seems to have managed to turn himself around. Hopefully he can keep it up. If he continues to stay out of trouble this could be a good move for the Bengals and let them pass on Raji for an offensive force (crabtree/maclin/wells) or a passrusher (Orakpo/Brown) or LT (Monroe/Oher).
Good signing for the Bengals. They have added some solid players in free agency. Think they need to go O-Line or DE in the draft Culd even go BJ Raji and create a dangerous looking DT partnership.
he's what the bengals need in a player, however, it looks bad for the organization given his past... and their past. If the tank has indeed "turned his life around", its a nice pickup for them for sure.
Interesting. The Bengals bring in a guy whose got a bad image in Tank Johnson and then the one player that they thought wouldn't get in trouble does just that as Leon Hall was pulled over for a DUI. They earn their stripes in Cincinnati, that's for sure.
