Im really starting to like the moves we've made here so far. All we need to do is AT LEAST sign goodman and a solid draft and ill be pretty darn happy. If we can get some other FA in there too ill be extremely pleased.
Wow, quite the deal it seems. So looks like we'll be goin with Wilson at FS. Hopefully we'll get Brown and then be done and focus on our front 7 in the draft along with WR and maybe a CB. Our needs are quickly disappearing.
I think the team kind of rewarded him for all the time he's been on this team and never got a big contract.. this is probably his last chance at big money as a player, and I think they were kind to him.. most guys by his age would have already signed 2 big contracts..
Well this can't really get much better. Carey, Wilson, Crowder, Bell, and all of that before FA starts. Now if Goodman, Brown, and Coles would come on down the draft would just be icing on an already very sweet cake.
I agree with Goodman and Brown but not Laveranues Coles. We dont need him he is what we already have. A small fast wide reciver. We need a big wide reciver. If we get him to come in and teach the guys we would just be taking up a roster spot for a teacher.
Wow, are secondary is looking great now. Keep up the goodwork Insomnia is kicking in, midnight is coming fast.
Yea I would love a young big wide reciver. Greg Camarillo Ted Ginn Jr Davon Bess Our young wide reciver could be Darrius Heyward-Bey. Darrius Heyward-Bey bio http://umterps.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/heywardbey_darrius00.html Dont know how he did in the NFL combine. But I would love to have him.
He dominated the combine, ran the fastest time out of anyone with a 4.30. Pretty likely that he'll be gone before our pick.
AWESOME Off season so far We locked up a few of the key players we had to and added a couple of others already. And FA Market hasn't even STARTED yet. If we can add a center, WR and a dlineman before the draft, we will be ROCKING into 2009!
Interesting to compare the two contracts. Wilson's deal, as far as we know, is $3.9 million base and $8 million guaranteed. Bell's deal, as far as we know, is $2 million base and $10 million guaranteed. Now there could be incentives, other bonuses, etc. But at face value it appears Bell gets 20% more up front and half as much base. At season's end, it looks like they'll both have pocketed about $12 million. That is before Uncle Sam takes half of it.
Christmas in February continues!!! nice job by the FO getting Bell resigned, him back there with new comer Wilson is going to be huge for us! God, this is great!!!!
I like the way we're inking our own FAs before free agency starts, but I hope we don't stop there. If we resign our own guys and don't go after one or two big-namers, I will be disappointed. We can't rest on our laurels and think we're good enough to go back out and win the AFC East again with the same players.
Good! Nice to see we are working out contracts with our FA's. Now our safety spots are locked down for a long time.
Parcells doesn't wait around. I love it. We just need to add a few more pieces and then we follow it up with a nice draft and we will be sick!!!!
