A Utat Utes bowl game against ex-coach Urban Meyer's Gators would be interesting.

Not to sound condescending... but really? I have not seen them play at all this year. Would they have the players to keep up with the major conferences?

This weekend UF vs UGA is a HUGE game!!!

I know what you're saying. I mean just for the fact that he left that school to go to UF, and if would be the first time he played his old team. Kind of an interesting scenario, IMO.:hi5:

I am really confused...how can this be week 2 of the BCS standings?

Also, no Utah isnt that good. Probably not even the best team in the conference, and the Mountain West is watered down this year.

If they get to the Natl championship game it will be a record. There never has been a team that was ranked below 8th place in the first BCS ranking to reach the game.

Thats why the initial ranking was a killer :pity:

Florida may win out and still not be in the game

Yep, especially with Penn State and USC up there. The Big XII and SEC will work themselves out but USC and PSU have a pretty clear road from here on out, well..........not that it was too tough up to this point either. :wink2:

Plenty of football left to play though, anything can happen.

Both of those teams ONLY had to play Ohio State. And as we know, Tressel has gone into both of those games with a really vanilla game plan.

Hopefully this year shows (yet again) that we need a playoff! I know the odds are against one ever coming, but come on...

Yes.It looks highly unlikely that the Gators will get any help given the soft schedules of Penn St and Southern Cal

Yeah however the Gators may jump Penn State and USC. If they win out they would have finished with beating FSU, Georgia, and Bama

USC yes... Penn State? Not if they are undefeated. Sorry a one loss team will not jump an undefeated one.

Agreed. Easily see them jumping USC as they BARELY beat an extremely mediocre U of A team this weekend here in Tucson

Penn State is winning big games week in and week out. If they run the table, I think they have a chance of playing for the championship...and would love to see Joe-pah go out that way

I don't exactly agree with the terminology used there, but I agree it will be very hard for a 1 loss team to jump them.

We just paved the way for Penn State to go to the BCS title game but they could have a hiccup look at USC and Florida's unlikely losses...

As far as the "jump" thing goes IMO:

Penn State will NOT be jumped by a 1 loss team period!

USC should be jumped by any 1 loss team from the SEC or big 12

If Texas Tech beats #1 Texas then put them in the top 3

Florida needs a ton of help becasue they wont pass Oklahoma or even Texas is they lose 1.

The Big 12 has been awesome this year and the QB's they have over there are just sick!

Im guessing as of now a Penn State Texas title game but lotsa football left!

    You crack me up Stitches...

Maybe, Maybe not. We do not know that bc they do not play. :tongue2:

And I am not trying to be a dick, but seriously we do not know how teams would fare conf to conf bc not enough of them play each other. Another reason I'd LOVE a playoff. Mainly bc now even with Bowls it is always the same conferences playing each other. I would love to see more Big 12 vs SEC, and Pac 10 vs Big East, etc.... That is one of the best things about the NCAA Tournament in BBall. Teams that never play each other ... do!

Don't get me wrong, I am as big an advocate for playoffs as anyone. I think that is the fairest way, plus it would give smaller schools an actual chance at a NC.

Not necessarily, last I checked if the season ended today they wouldn't get their shot at the NC. They would be in a BCS bowl against someone.

We can play the "If Game" all day, but its kinda pointless at this point. Still alot of football to be played.

No need to be sorry. We're in good shape.

Well, since that is for who is playing best right now (as in a week by week shot), I can't argue that Florida played better than Penn State. But the degree of difficulty of opponent should be taken into account, as well as the location (I'm saying Penn State can hang 45+ on Kentucky), so it is hard to say that based on this week alone Florida is better (by better I mean should be ranked higher nationally).

I am happy to see that he didn't move Oklahoma State lower for their loss though.

All I'm saying is that Florida is as hot as anyone right now. Hopefully they keep it up. Plenty of football left to be played.

I wouldnt say they are "hotter" than a Penn State...

Now beat Georgia and then you can talk about top 5.

We can twist words all day, I said "as hot", not "Hotter". Obviously I'm not the only one who thinks that. I posted the FoxSports link for fun, assuming there was a sense of humor present in the thread, maybe thats my mistake.

I'm not trying to take anything away from PSU, obviously it was taken that way by that twisted interpretation. Their win over OSU was impressive in the way that they haven't won there in 30 years but beating OSU doesn't make you a NC contender IMO. I don't expect to be ranked ahead of them at this point, hence the "plenty of football left to be played". They are in better position than us right now obviously, I realize that. Plenty of time left, anything can happen.
