I think it is fair to say that Dan Carpenter is the teams MVP right now. It is a great luxury to have a very good kicker, but it isn't the guy you should be counting on for all your points in a game and to be the main reason you win the games you are winning. At some point....NOW...this team is going to need to figure out how to score touchdowns in the redzone. At some point....NOW...they are going to need to figure out how to not kill drives with boneheaded play calls. At some point...NOW...this offense is going to have to make the most of the opportunities they are given. It won't get any easier this week at Baltimore...who we can hardly ever beat. If it isn't the Houston Texans...it is the Baltimore Ravens.
in our history, the dolphins / ravens are a very defensive fieldgoal game! miami wins 27 (9 field goals) to 21 (7 field goals)
Definitely bitter sweet. We cant find the endzone, but Carpainter cant miss the uprights. WHEN we start scoring TD's look out. Anybody else notice that our Defense is maturing pretty damn quickly.
Really? The ones in red are the FG games. 10/19/97 -- Miami 24, at Baltimore 13 09/17/00 -- at Miami 19, Baltimore 6 01/13/02 -- *Baltimore 20, at Miami 3 11/17/02 -- at Miami 26, Baltimore 7 11/16/03 -- at Miami 9, Baltimore 6 (OT) 01/02/05 -- at Baltimore 30, Miami 23 12/16/07 -- at Miami 22, Baltimore 16 (OT) 10/19/08 -- Baltimore 27, at Miami 13 01/04/09 -- *Baltimore 27, at Miami 9 3 of the 9 games have been decided by 7 or less. 2 of those were in OT...so they were FG games. So to say in the history of this series...well, that isn't true. 33% isn't a majority.
Its a huge game in regards to playoffs next week, the Ravens are a team we could be fighting for a spot with.
I'm not so scared of the ravens this year. Defense is getting old and slow. Offense is improved but I think Flacco can be rattled. Titans scare me. Alot of speed on the offense and the defense is good.
Ngati..Sugg's..Lewis..Reed...4 players that I would take first or 2nd at their positions if I had my choice.
These next two weeks will potentially decide wild card slot tiebreakers. We're facing both teams coming off their byes. The Ravens are now in 1st place in their division and will be frothing at the mouth. The Titans will either be tied for 1st or one game back in their division when we play them.
His hurries, sacks, and what not are not nearly what people think they are. He's good, but the Ravens front reminds me of the Jets front. They're great run stoppers but if you can battle against their odd blitzes etc you've a shot. The Steelers' front they are not.
