Why? Her role is one of the most important, if not the most important in the organization. IMO she plays a more important role than Jeff Ireland. I think its important to identify what exactly she does and how that relates to success.

Wasn't Huizenga still active in other businesses while majority owner?

Yes but I believe his businesses were all located in South Florida. Ross' business is up in New York. I also think that Huizenga sold Waste Management and Blockbuster a few years after buying the Dolphins.

To her credit, the Dolphins free agent spending spree this past off-season could have crippled Miami's salary structure in future years, but the way she structured those deals makes it very easy to get out from under them after 3 years without hurting the cap with a lot of accelerated dead money. She also correctly identified Josh Cribbs's value while with the Browns, as her standing offer to him was $1.5 million a year over 3 years. After she was replaced by Matt Thomas, Cleveland signed Cribbs to a 3 year, $20 million deal, and he did not live up to it. They ultimately overpaid for a special teams player who was a below average receiver, and now he's on his third team in the past year.

Didn't he buy in 1993? I dont think he was active in any anything then. He had dealerships and auto nation was late 90s I think. The Dolphins were always his priority though.

You missed my distinguishing between being able to list something on a resume and being good at it.

According to the same media we could infer that manning was going to be our QB, Fisher was going to be our coach, Cowher literally spat in our face, Flynn was as good as signed, our coaching search was turned into the Amazing Race between Ireland and King Carl, Ritchie is a racist and let's not forget the team mutinied against Philbin!!!!!!!!

I think he sold all of those around the same time he bought the team.

I don't know if that is certain but I think that is a possibility that he is gay. But, I don't think there is any evidence that he was being harassed by any one - including Incognito.

There's no doubt Martin may have "felt harassed." Nor that he may have felt great emotional strain (esp. if he were homosexual) and that he may have gone along with Incognito. But, if Incognito's texts from Martin are true as Glazer says they are, then it may well have been that neither Incognito nor the coaches could determine what Martin's mental health state was.

The reality is, while Martin may have had emotional issues and the coaches may have known that - he's one of 90 players in the off-season. And, they are not, none of them, mental health experts. Their football coaches with a job to do. If a player comes back and is buddy-buddy with Incognito and doesn't show clear signs he's a mess emotionally (most people hide their issues - which is why it's always a shock when something happens) - then I don't think they can be held accountable.

This isn't a basketball team with 12 guys you are looking out for. It's an 80-90 hour a week job where coaches themselves are wrestling with mental health pressures and have their own families to go back to each day. 5-6 hours later they are at the office watching film and gearing up for the next game.

It's a meat market league / sport. That makes it tough to know a lot about every player and what they are going through off the field.

I think people keep forgetting or maybe don't know that most suffers of mental disease or distress try to hide it. He may have told Philbin, and Joe could tell him here are some numbers to call but after that there isn't much and employer can do. You can't suspend a player for it, or force them to counseling. The entire mental issues here is so tough because if Philbin saw JM and RI joking around he may have taken it as a good thing, JM was one of the guys. No one ever knows what is going through someone's head, especially those suffering from mental illness.
