Coroner's report was published, no illegal drugs in his system, just Ambien and Aleve. Also there was no brain damage evident from any concussions he received while playing football. http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2012/08/21/autopsy-no-apparent-damage-to-seaus-brain/?hpt=hp_t3
Surprised. Not sure how I feel about this. If its used by the faction lobbying against more player safety, then that's sad because Seau wanted to accomplish something towards player safety at least through his death and he may have the opposite effect. Also, he'll now be remembered as the guy who was just emotionally troubled at the end.
Man... RIP Junior. He was one of my favorite players in the NFL. Still wear his jersey to this day. Just such a shame when this happens to anybody.
1. The brain will be studied by specialists anyway. Who knows how in-depth a run-of-the-mill coroner goes into brain trauma versus a brain specialist? 2. We can all agree that Junior was a great football player and a great man and will be missed.
I said it then and I say it now, you just never know the depths of one persons personal issues. He had a lot of issues adjusting to life away from football, personally and financially. He had a lot of internal strife. Saying it was CTE related was the easy way out. I looked at all the other facts and what his friends said about him right after he died. Not one thing made me think CTE.
