Hmm not sure what to think because the bills suck and have a crappy roster so brining in a GM from a team that’s worse than us seems be be on the surface a bad move. He’s going to be an assistant but it’s not comforting
The Bills have hit on some pretty sweet draft picks in the last couple years. He's being hired because of his Patriots experience though, not his Bills experience.
Is Grier trying to turn us into a Mini-Me Patriots? I hear Gronk is talking about retiring at the end of this season.....!!?!
We are just going full bore taking guys from New England now. Putting all of the eggs in one basket. I would bet that at least some of the assistant coaches from from there as well. That might help in continuing to beat them on our turf, but who knows if it will help turn us into a team that can win ten to twelve games for a while.
Who knows how it's going to turn out. I read that one NFL executive said Allen would be our best talent evaluator day 1. I don't care if he comes from Mars. We need all the help we can get and if he already has a great rapport with Grier, even better.
I read that as well and is surely something we could use. But I don't think its any big deal he is gathering guys he is comfortable with and has worked with before. It's not like Allen isn't qualified because he most certainly is. I am pretty sure that if we were in the same position we would be doing the same thing, bringing in guys you know and trust that are capable.
I know, right? Wouldn't you do the same thing? It doesn't matter where they have worked. It's all on Grier now. He is doing his best to try and make it work. Since we don't know how it will turn out. I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt.
He's not a Bills FAN no reason to dislike him. He's well respected around the league and has a good resume. I like these hires so far. There is no one staff member we will hire, from a winner or otherwise, that will instantly = championship. Successful teams succeed because they have a lot of front office pieces that fit well together, share a vision and talent. Another guy who has put in the hours to get where he is and is now getting his chance. It doesn't guarantee success but I'm actually warming up to seeing how these guys tackle things.
