I don't know if I buy he was limited, rather than he was doing a lot of the limiting. Pulling linemen and moving pockets aren't really a big portion of Sherman's playbook under any circumstances. I think there were options if they wanted to do that, too. When they finally came to grips with Reggie Bush not being a very good zone rusher in 2012 they pulled linemen- They pulled Incognito, they put Center pulls in the playbook for Pouncey(which worked well), and they had Sam Brenner playing too whom could also be expected to do it. They chose not to.
