Again, I didn't know if this was originally reviewed and had it own thread or not, but I didn't see one. I DLed the demo last night and played the coop mode with a friend. It was quite entertaining to say the least. No, not the gameplay, but the features were entertaining. The gameplay was a little ho-hum. It kinda reminded me of Gears with a little R6 thrown into it. The 3rd person shooter was a little hard for me to control. Aiming was tough, and the controls were a little wierd for me. I couldn't get used to the controls for changing weapons. There were a few features in the game that made us both LOL literally quite a few times. If you're not familiar with the story, it looks like this game is based on 2 bad *** SF type dudes. They come complete with their own gear and bullet proof masks...(1 LOL moment). The most absurd moment in this is when you come together with your buddy and fight back to back. Basically you are surrounded by tangos, who are shooting you, and you have no cover whatsoever. How unrealistic can this be? My friend and I (I have served and he is presently serving) found this to be too unreal. "Dude, just go over to Iraq with me and these armor suits. Then the rest of the guys could pull out and go home! We'll just stay back to back and end this war!" Another LOL moment was when we were introduced to the "go up and high five your buddy" feature. This was followed up with a "show your buddy some agression" moment. needless to say after we found out about this feature it made the rest of the game more enjoyable. Overall it looked pretty good graphics wise. The gameplay was a little tough, but the game is a definite rental IMO.
cool. thanks for the info. I saw some of the trailers for this and it looked pretty impressive graphics wise. I wasnt aware there was a demo available, I might have to check it out now. Im ok with it not being 100% realistic, afterall it is a game. Im not sure how into it i might be though. Guess ill check out the demo, or give it a rent and see what its all about. thanks for the info!
aaahhhh I missed that thread at the other place. I was almost dead on in agreeance I guess. Told ya I can't write worth a ****! I didn't even realize it was an EA game. That explains so much for me now.
I was waiting for the demo to hit Playstation Network, but it didn't. O'well. Net Flix for me -- no blockbuster card. Their potential loss.
Yahtzee explains it perfectly http://www.escapistmagazine.com/art...punctuation/3083-Zero-Punctuation-Army-of-Two
wow, i agree with mor almost to a T. In fact, the very first thing I said when I played it was, Wow, this looks exactly like a mix of Gears of War meets COD4.
