Armstead injures pectoral

FinatikmoderatorOPDolphins left tackle Terron Armstead left Sunday’s win over the Texans with a pectoral injury and there was no immediate word about the severity of the injury after the game.
Head coach Mike McDaniel said at his press conference that Armstead needs to have the injury evaluated further by doctors on Monday before the team will have an idea about what it will mean for his availability moving forward. The injury happened in the first half and the Dolphins went up 30-0 before the break, but McDaniel said the injury was serious enough that Armstead would not have stayed in a closer game.
“That was an injury regardless of the score that was going to keep him out of the game,” McDaniel said, via Safid Deen of USA Today.
Right tackle Austin Jackson also suffered an ankle injury during the game, so the Dolphins will have plenty to monitor on the injury front heading into Week 13.
Lots of people will tell you what they think about you and what you shouldn't and should do. Not everyone's thoughts are worth consideration. Don't take criticism from anyone who you wouldn't also go to for advice.

Well that's good news. The Niners game is NFC so if he needs that one off it's "less" important. We need him back for the Chargers.

The offensive line just seems to play at an entirely different level when he’s on the field. Tua hadn’t been sacked once while Armstead was on the field. He strains his pec, next thing you know there’s 5 sacks on the Dolphins QBs (Tua and Skylar). This just demonstrates his importance to the offense.
I can’t trust Grier to draft offensive linemen. He’s just a flat out bust in that regard, but if we can’t get the offensive line to a level that isn’t dependent on ONE player, the Dolphins offense is going to be hit and miss.
If the Bills lose Thursday night against the Patriots, I wouldn’t be too concerned about having Armstead on the field against the 49ers, but if they win, suck it up buttercup, we need to keep pace with Buffalo.

Yeah, dealing with the Bosa brothers on back-to-back weeks is going to be a challenge for our OL. But they have to do it, so bring it on.
The_Dark_Knightforum_veteranI hate Tua having to play it so quickly, but if the improvised OL can just give Tagovailoa 2.5 seconds on every drop back, we’ll be ok…provided none of our next 3 opponents decide to play dirty and headhunt Tua.
That’s MY biggest concern…someone taking a CHEAP shot on him and ruining the rest of our season.

I agree. One could argue that Armstead is the MVP of the team based on what we saw and have seen when he is out.

Not that far out considering the difference in the offense when he’s playing and when he’s not. You’d then have to put Tyreek a close third.
PS. Since they’re circling the drain, I wonder what the Texans would want for that Tunsil fella. I hear he’s pretty good.

From reports he has a grade 2 strain (which is technically a tear, just not a full tear) so there is no sucking that up. He'd essentially be playing with one arm this week. I'm just hoping he's back for the Buffalo game.
Going to need coach Mike to go full 49ers this week with quick crossing passes that get people running.

Going to be an enormous downgrade at LT regardless. Might aswell keep the rest where they have been most comfortable.

May need the TE to stay in and help. Limits the looks but if they don't get a rush from that side he may be able to slip out and make them think a little.

I think the biggest adjustment will be at QB. For a few games after coming back from injury Tua was getting the ball out VERY quickly. They kind of let up from that last few games. I think they'll go back to that ultra-quick release strategy if the pressure is bad. It was too difficult to make that adjustment in-game against Houston, but a week of game planning is another matter.
Having said that SF is a difficult game. East coast teams generally don't do well playing on the West coast, and SF's defense has been lights out lately giving up an average of only 10 points per game last 4 games. There's a reason bettors favor SF. Still think 9-3 is in our future.

This is going to happen. I doubt a coach will instruct his players to do it, but I'd bet money that a player's willing to risk a fine and a 15-yard penalty if he thinks it'll get Tua out of the game. I'd prefer he move the pocket instead of stand stationary, waiting for players to break open. Fortunately, he has a quick release and good anticipation, so the ball comes out quick. But when he gets blasted while standing flat footed, it seems like he's more at risk.

Shell has been serviceable at RT and both times he's played LT he's been horrific. He needs to stay at RT.
The only option we have really is AJ to LT if he is ready. Little has been horrific at LT as well.
ExplosionsInDaSkyforum_veteranNo Armstead, probably an offensive scheme closer to what we saw against the Steelers in Tuas first game back. We don't need him taking hits so I imagine that's kind of what we'll see. I look for Jeff Wilson to get a lot of usage. Hopefully Mostert is back, he's actually not a bad receiver out of the backfield. Get well Armstead. Guy is the second most important player on the entire team.
