I finally got myself a PS3 and after hooking it up to my old 32" philips TV, i realized i need a TV upgrade. my budget is under 800, lower the better. the models im considering so far are: 32" Costco - Vizio 32" 1080p LCD HDTV 37" Costco - $719.99 after $80 OFF Vizio 37" 1080p I'm thinking 32" due to the price but i like the 37" cus its bigger. Then again, my parents need a new TV so I might get both, one for my room and one for my parents. So if anyone has a Vizio can you tell me if its worth it or not? thanks
Bro I have both models. I have the 37" in the living room, and 32" in the garage. Great tv's I have had no problem with them, and I bought them both from Costco. If you have another questions please ask.
The 32" in the garage is hooked up to my Yamaha home theater system that I bought 6 years ago, for the extra level of game day.

Try The last link. J&R.com have real good prices, and also have product that has been repaired very cheap. I bought my second DVD player from them for the garage when the stock one I bought took a dump. It works awesome.
thanks bro, getting a console system is starting to get expensive. i should of stuck with PC games. hahaha
Keep checking J&R.com, plus some of the others. This Christmas season is going to be really rough for retailers, so you might catch a good deal. Best of luck bro.
im really tempted in being selfish & getting the 37" for myself & 32" for my parents. how much do cables come to play? does top of the line HDMI cables make a different in picture & sound quality? thanks
Dynex® - 42" 1080p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV - DX-LCD42HD-09 Here it is for 699 and it has a good rating plus you can pick it up so you dont need to pay shipping. Ive seen it used and it has a nice crisp picture.
I bought into Ensignia, which is basically BEST-BUY brand. It has been nice, but starting to think I shouldve bought a VISIO. Have a buddy with a larger (Think its a 50" like mine) and for the buck it is very very nice... Interestingly enough, I have had nothing but VERY GOOD luck on returns from Costco. ON a sidenote, I dont know how it is where others live, but everty CostCo I have ever been in is completely run by hot-chicks...coeeenkydink? I think NOT!!!!
Vizio is a very decent budget brand tv. Not as good as Samsung or Sharp but if you dont want to shell out top of the live cash its what I would get.
Cables are very important, but don't buy into hype that best buy/big box stores try and sell you on; that only certain brands of cables will do. For your cable needs, look no further than www.monoprice.com Amazing customer service, top quality products, and great prices.
The founder and CEO is actually a close family friend from Taiwan. So yes, I think they're good products.
Your local radio shack can help out with some good quality cabling as well. I been there once or twice.
I bought my wife the 42" for the living room so she could watch the Crying Channel and leave me alone to watch Maverick & Bat Masterson in black and white on $5k worth of HD A/V equip. LOL!.
I got a vizio about 6 weeks ago. The 32 lcd doesnt have any RCA audio output. It only has optical output for audio. Make sure your sound system accepts that. Mine didnt, mine Philips dvd/surround sound system only takes RCA. P.S. Thanks Pete for that link. I've been looking for a good price on this adapter. link
Every day above ground, is a good day! BTW, that post was in no way intended to be boastful. More a condemnation on todays broadcast content. You know what they say about a fool and his money. lol I've always been a tech junkie for A/V equipment. Even before the long awaited marriage between the two. I can remember discovering (in the late 60s) that if I tuned my parents old Curtis Mathis console receiver to 88kh fm, I could pick up TV channel 6 CBS out of Orlando and listen to decent quality audio while watching the TV broadcast.
