    The post funk era
Taunting and Mocking has been part of football forever.Kids do it, high school kids do it, college kids.NFL " kids " as well.

It's kind of odd to get upset over it after a win.Kind of like getting upset at the night , when you knew it was coming all day long.

It was/is always will be a part of football.

When you go to your favorite restaurant do you enjoy your meal or complain about how much it cost?

I think you all know my stance on this subject mocking and it's ba**ard cousin showboating.
Just because you can't doesn't mean you should no matter what adversity you've overcome to get to that point in the game. In the case of Wilhelm & Cooper they are double rectums because you look a bigger fool to do those things while losing (At least when Wilhelm did it the game was not decided, not that's it's justifyable)

I don't know where to start with these analogies.

Firstly, regarding the restaurant anaology; paying for something you purchase is simply a normal societal expectation. Not a person who functions in Western society is unaware of, or swims against the stream of this notion, so I do not see it as a good parallel to what's under discussion.

Secondly, the proposition that just because something exists, that it should be approved of and called not only acceptable, but a valid part of accepted mores does not hold water, to me. If that logic held true then one could as easily argue that because husbands cheating on wives is common and has been happening since time immemorial, that no one should have any problem or issue with it. Because it happens it should be validated and considered good?

No. I totally disagree. Just because there is poor behaviour extant in any area is not the same as justification for said behaviour. This is syllogism with no parallel to the current issue and an illogical comparison.

Thirdly, I think it's being blown out of proportion how 'upset' people are about this. It's really not about Ronnie or Wilhelm, or any of them, at this point, it's really just become a discussion of where different posters draw their standards and perceptions of behavior on and around the football field. Both sides have every right, of course, to their own subjective view of this, since all arguments of morality are, essentially, a combination of personal mores and those generally accepted by society as a whole.

The argument I made was simply that any behaviour which mocks an opponent is personally distasteful to me, disappoints me, and that hope to not see an increasing amount of this as the team is more successful.

To say that this is similar to getting upset that the sun sets at night is simply so far from what I am expressing that I don't see it as related, in my opinion.

At the end of the day, we are all Miami Dolphins fans (and we should remember that commonality of brotherhood, especially in contentious discussion :) ) , but each of us also carries into our way of interacting with this team and sport our own personal beliefs, world view, and emotional quirks. As a fanbase we are e pluribus unum, with room for individuality.

I'll happily agree to disagree on this count. Those who are okay with this behavior have every right to feel comfortable with it, as they see nothing wrong in it.

I think there's a HUGE difference between players that taunt as part of their game and something which they just enjoy doing compared to players taunting in response to an arrogance from the other side or cheap play from the opposing team.

I don't know whether Ronnie was doing LT's deal or not but I don't have a problem with it at all if he was shoveling their own arrogance right back into their faces. The Bolts asked for it with their own arrogant actions early on.

Here is what I thought every time Wilhelm did his little kick:

You know it's a good play when you gain 3-4 yards and the tackler celebrates the fact that you did not get a touchdown.

I personally have no problems with this at all. Our boys were being taunted all day long, and RB didnt turn to their bench and taunt them like they were doing to us. I would have donr the same thing Ronnie did if I were in his shoes. To me it shows he is defending his teammates, team and franchise. It shows that we had the last laugh with all the talking thay did all day, and I believe they diserve it with the past few years they/we have had. I say let the swagger roll on.:knucks:

I would like this team even more if this were true! NOT IN OUR HOUSE YOU DON'T!

Bpk...No one, even LT, said that the toe was stepped on maliciously...it happened in the course of playing the game. Those things happen. If a defender is worried about trying to maliciously hurt someone, they can get burned really easily...

As to Brown, that was just done in the context of the game..the one I disliked was Wilhelm doing the Porter celebration after making a routine play...now had it been a monumental play, sack or such...fine but just a tackle, 4 yds downfield ?? No place for that...
