to happen tonight with the Heat/Cavs game, besides the Heat winning by 20? Game stoppage? Thrown objects on the floor? All out bumrush to get LeBron...?
Yes. Knicks fans are different. When they lose by 5 they make excuses. When they lose by 20 they expect it. When they win...well......nevermind.
Yes, Buckeye fans are respectfull.....and dignafied in victory and defeat, we are quick to tip our hats to the opponents that beat us and quite modest when we win.
I hope the fans keep it classy. Well maybe not classy, but at least not violent. The reactions of the fans and the owner thus far have made them seem like a jilted teenage girl.
These are the fans that threw batteries at Albert Belle and bottles at refs in a Jaguars game. This is the city of $0.10 beer night and tackling an 8 yr old Jets fan. If they keep it close it will be fine. If the Heat get up big - it'll get ugly. Decent chance they have to forfeit this game halfway through.
Par for the course for that town. More interested in scapegoating their titans than dealing with losing. Heat win the tipoff. Boos out already. It’s ON.
Why? Is everyone going to make fun of Cleveland? I know your point - but this city is past caring what the national media thinks. We were trashed for 7 years while LeBron was here about how he was leaving for NY, we've been trashed since he left and if something bad happens it won't change anything. We really have nothing to lose.
All I'm saying is whether they boo'd LeBron or laid out a bed of roses - they would have been trashed by everyone else.
Having nothing to lose is no reason to act poorly. I don't try to act with class b/c of what the national media might think. I behave in what I consider an appropriate manner for myself and as the example I want to set for my son. And if something bad happened it would take away the victim image that Cleveland has and make them appear like criminals. IMO a criminal reputation would be worse than a pathetic reputation.
Cavs fans starting to fight with Heat fans in the upper bowl of the arena. Cavs fans getting ejected, Heat fans getting escorted out for their own safety.
Too bad. Cavs fans were fired up and classy for the first half. Team came out and showed absolutely ZERO effort - and chummed it up with Bron on the bench (other than Mo's cold shoulder). Hate to see fans resort to this but not surprised with the hype and let-down.
What did you think they’d do? The players don’t care. Half of them signed with the Cavs in free agency in the first place. They don’t care one iota about which team LeBron plays for or how he arrived at that team. The hate is purely generated by the fans. Clevelanders are better than New Yorkers at hating. Didn’t you say you only gave the Cavs a 25% chance to win? Not sure how you can categorize an expected loss as a let down.
Well considering he left most of the guys to play for another team and said that gave him a better chance at a championship - he more or less said they suck. And while I didn't think the Cavs would win - I didn't think they would get blown out this bad.
Cavs down 30 with 5 minutes left in the 4th and still have more fans in the stands than the Heat normally do at tip-off. Say what you want about CLE but the fans are passionate.
They clearly don’t see it that way. Turns out LeBron didn’t really have a good team around him for 7 years. I’m really tired of hearing this. You know who bought seats in the lower bowl at the AAA? Celebrities and rich people with money to burn. Tickets at that level were priced in the five figures after The Decision. They were previously four figures after Wade brought Bosh into the fold. The Heat fired their ticket sales staff because they sold out a couple weeks later. The people down in the lower bowl aren’t fans, they’re rich people attending a passive party. Half the time they’re in the lounge watching the game on TVs. The real fans are in the upper bowl, and it is always full up there. You just don’t see it on TV.
If he won 127 games in two years with this team, and now is on a team where he is winning LESS - you must be saying the Heat have a worse team around him. Because the Heat sure as hell haven't proven anything yet.
The whole talent around him thing is ridiculous - they built a team perfect for LeBron's strengths and are choices he helped make. It is frustrating when people say that they couldn't put talent next to him when he had a say in every move.
And yet… the moves didn’t work. So yes, they failed to put talent around him. Whether or not LeBron had a say in the moves, and how much say he had, is completely irrelevant.
I don't know if Cleveland crowd was classy, what with the "Lebron sucks ****" and "***HOLE" chants. Hopefully no one brought their kids. I give them credit for not throwing stuff and getting thrown out until the fourth quarter.
We have PERFECT attendance. and commitments for 4 years of sellouts. We are fine. We just have more rich people paying 4 and 5 figures for seats that like to hang in the lounges. The Cavs fans did a great job and acquitted themselves WELL.....Till the clowns in the upper deck couldn't take it anymore. Lebron choked though with zero turnovers and his best game as a Heat. Well...you got a preview of what we are. Well..not really..missing our best two bench players. The CAVS WILL get in the playoffs though. THEY PLAY DEFENSE. Congrats on looking okay as a fan base. The clowns in the upper deck withstanding.
In defense of the crowd in the upper deck - that kid looking for 15 minutes of fame who wore a Heat James jersey to an Indians game was standing up and facing the entire crowd and holding up his Heat James jersey. Got himself a beer shower but I don't think any physical altercations. Windhorst reported 1 arrest and 4 ejections for the whole game. I can't imagine that there aren't 1-2 at a normal game anyways so that isn't too bad. As for the Cavs - after watching them yuck it up with Bron while getting beat by 40 I'm ready to blow this team up. Not worth making the playoffs with this squad. I was all for keeping this core (Mo, Andy, Hickson, Boobie) and trying to add talent but I'm ready to go for the lottery now.
I still think they did a fairly remarkable job. It is easy from the outside - especially for the Heat - to say they didn't add talent. If you look at the situation, we had to compete EVERY year. We couldn't take a step back or try to rebuild or add youth. The whole "free agency" frenzy around LeBron forced us to constantly go for broke. That isn't the way to build a team. It is easy as a Heat fan to mock that - but look at the Cavs' record over the last few years compared to Miami. Wade allowed you to rebuild and look towards the future - LeBron never gave the Cavs that chance.
As for the fans - I said they were passionate. I didn't say they sell out (which they do). The Heat may sell out but I still don't see the argument they are as passionate as Cleveland fans. The fact that the seats are purchased by rich locals who don't go doesn't seem like an argument in your favor to me? Especially when you consider how incredibly inept our sports teams have been for 40 years (which when you really look at it is fairly impressive. To be THIS bad for THIS long has to actually be a talent, right? I mean the consistency is just remarkable.)
LeBron literally took a dump on Cleveland last night....and they did nothing....he came in comfortable, yapping it up with the Cleveland bench, dropped bombs on them, and sat the entire 4th qtr... This is why I dont watch the NBA that much, there is fake fights, fake emotions, these guys all high five and hug, and laugh during the game....Shame on Bryon Scott for allowing it to happen, he is from an era, where what LeBron did didnt fly....even Miller and Barkley were saying it... lol at imagining, Lambeer, Rambus, Charles Oakley, even Jordan etc and what they would have done if that happened...
